Baby seats

Chaps, due to the arrival of Little Miss Thrust 11 weeks ago I'm coming to the conclusion that the Noble is not going to get much use going forward. As such I'm thinking of returning to the Cerbera world, the back seats and boot market a far more useable proposition.

Firstly, anyone one know if a Quinny Buzz will fit in the boot?

Also, I know that baby seats have been covered many times but I'm also aware that the law on child seats seems to change a lot too. So, what seats are available to fit in a Cerb? I may well be in the market...

Recaro Start fits fine, we have one or iirc, there was a TVR child seat in a light tan colour on Ebay last week.

As it happens I have a Quinny Buzz 3 waiting for the arrival of little miss Rosersv (due in the next fortnight) + a Cerbera on my drive.

Give me an hour ish to get off a rather boring call I am on and and I will go and check if it goes in the boot.

I have a Maxi Cozy child seat thing for when she is born. Anyone tried one of these in a Cerb?

Rear-facing seats for newborns will generally just about fit (in the front passenger seat only of course) but seat belt length can be marginal - the base of the seat may not sit flat due to the belt being a few inches too short.

For toddlers and above the Bubblebum inflatable booster fits the rear seats and seems to work well.

Does the law say that toddlers have to have a rear facing seat up to a certain age?
Is a rear facing seat in the front legal?

My daughter fits perfectly in her Maxi Cosi 'front seat' the seatbelt is just about long enough to enable this. My boys in the back no probs, just leaves the wife who has to stay home.....

Blast. So the Maxi Cosi doesn't fit in the back?

No sorry, rear facing seats will not fit in the back, they take up a lot more room than the front facing types. I was gutted to find that out too. As far as I know you have to have them in a rear facing seat till they are 9 months old. Also when they are very young with no strength & in a rear facing seat you can't give it any real beans or their heads get thrown back when you accelerate

I got a Recaro Start (first edition that you can't get new any more seem to be the only ones that fit in the back of the Cerb) with the impact cushion you have to use with it when they are that young. But really they are still a little bit small for it at that age, from 10 months old I felt a bit better putting him in it. Now he's 13months old he fits very well & loves looking out of the front window at the other cars.

At least it gives you a good long time to look for a good Cerb!

I couldn't get either of our britax and maxicosi rear-facing seats to fit in, front or back.

Our lad had his first trip in the Cerb this weekend just past. 10.5 months old, and he didn't really fit in the recaro start with impact cushion before now. He's been waiting for it a while, absolutely loves the car. He's not overjoyed at the enormous impact cushion, but overall he just seems happy to be in there

The impact cushion works well when they fall asleep!!! My two almost invariably fall asleep on longer journeys when in the back - maybe something to do with warm cosy environment?? Anyhow - impact cushion stops them lolling about - when combined with Start seat is decent bit of kit! When they get older - can use the Impact cushion on it's own with the child in the seat - they are quite sculpted in the Cerb, and I can't fit another Start seat behind me when I'm driving.
