Water in Boot Lid

Has any one experienced water in there boot lid. when ever i open the boot when it has rained you get the usual trickle running off down into the channel, but noticed today as i went in the boot a few times that you can hear a trickle of water inside the boot lid, first time I've noticed this.

Would drilling two holes on either side close to the edges be useful in not only letting the water escape but stopping future build up?

You've obviously got a crack in it somewhere, it is not 'normal' for water to be inside the boot lid. Check where it's coming in, and repair it.

It may have been used as a drugs mule and that was enough space to contain £100Ks worth of white powder. Be careful if you are ever opening the wheel arch hatches.

I do have a small crack on the right hand bottom edge, that i have temporary repaired today although its so small i can't see how it would fill it up with water. I drilled a hole at bottom edge and have emptied the water and there was a lot of it. but shouldn't happen again, and will repair properly with warmer weather. thanks for the input guys.
