Missing oil?

I seem to have been visited by the oil fairy my Cerb has been parked up for the last six months, before it was parked it had a service and mot done the oil was full to the Mark on the dipstick. Now for some reason its right down to the bottom Mark on the dipstick?? Where has my oil gone lol all that's happend while it's been parked is I drained the coolant to replace the old rad with a shiney one, I still haven't fitted the new rad so it's still empty of water.

Your headgasket has gone, when you drained the water some of the oil came out too.....

Yeah I did jack the back up about a month ago to test my new jack out, but it was just to try my new jack I put the car straight back down again.

I thought maybe the oil went into the cooling system but the oil that is showing on the dipstick still looks clean and new.

Just kidding, it could just be the difference between warm and cold oil when it was dipped and to be fair on my last cerb when i was checking the oil its hardly a consistent result due to the style of dipstick.

Check it again in a week, check for any leaks and always try to check it when its in the same state i.e after a drive when it has been stood for 10 mins or at stone cold.

I'm sorry, I can't offer any advice myself, but I'm interested to hear what is said in this thread as my oil level is approaching the minimum mark too!

Can anyone tell me what the volume of required oil is between the minimum and maximum marks? I don't want to overfill it!

Its not recommended to allow your oil level to get so low. You should try and keep it a max, check it once a week (or more if using the car regularly) and dont allow it to drop far, certainly not near minimum.

Check underneath the radiator, if the oil cooler has a leak then it will pool under there, especially if the car is on a slight gradient.
