Skim = Quick fix (it will come back within a few ,000 miles)

Best if you can to replace, but expensive.

IMHO

Just replaced mine as Joolz said skimmed ones didn't last very long. Out of interest - anyone skimmed recently, how much and how long do they last? and did you use a mob who skim while discs still on the car?
Questions questions......

Had mine skimmed nearly a year ago. Done over 6000 miles since. Problem hasn't recurred.

I would imagine that provided you had'nt got a lot of material to have skimmed off then for normal day to day use, skimming should be ok...
If quite alot of material needs to be taken off then i would think the heat generated under braking would cause problems again to both discs and pads as there would be less metal to dissipate the heat....
On the other hand if you do track days then new/upgraded discs would be the way to go....

only my tuppence worth....

I've had mine skimmed twice. The first time the judder came back after a few months but since the second time (six months ago) it has been fine.
Obviously you should check the thickness to make sure you don't get under the wear limit. It was pretty cheap (a few tens of pounds) so it is probably worth a try anyway.

I had mine skimmed and new pads last year cost around £400, however new discs and pads were £1,000. Have done around 2500 miles and i would say them need doing again....
