Drop them an email to find out who the seller is......the pipes / chip at that price seem spot on.

Im in the process of buying these. I have been emailimg the seller over a few things and he has been exceedingly helpful with me so far seems a very genuine seller. I have seen the pipes on other cerbs and seem no different to the act pipes at double the price. When I get mine I will have it dynoed before and after fitting them and will post it up on here to let you know how well they work. That might not be too soon as ive just got out of hospital but it will let you know for the future if they work well.

The pipes will be fine as they are a version of the Whirlwind pipes that are proven already on here.

Ideally it is best to get the engine remapped after fitting the pipes but the generic chip "should" be fine as it is usually well within tolerances required. My only concern would be where the chip originates from, as these were supplied by Joolz @ TCS and then of Raceproved, if this is the case then go for it!! If not then try and find out where the chip is from.

Maybe Joolz is the seller?

I have. The chips have been installed for many years as have the pipes.

The difference between these and the ACT ones is that the ACT ones come with carbon trumpets that go inside the airbox.

I don't have the pipes or a generic chip.
These products are generally considered the best available. If you search whirlwind on here you will find 100s of posts praising the benefits of these pipes and remaps. The generic chips are good so long as your car is already working well eg adding a chip when your tpots are knackered will not increase power or smoothness.

Correct hence why they are a different price, you actually get more parts so makes sense.

The ACT pipes are also the same diameter for the full length hence needing the new trumpets, the Whirlwind pipes are the same size as per the originals so are a direct fit but larger internal area than the ACT pipes. Once mapped the differences in pipes used are negligable.

I got my pipes from a group buy. They are identical to the ones in the link. I have not used the chip as my car was remapped prior to fitting the pipes and I will have it remapped again this summer so can't comment on the chip.

I am guessing that is Joo formerly of TCS selling this kit???

Im sorry I didnt realise the act pipes came with carbon trumpets hence the price difference but the price including the chip is still much cheaper than the act ones even if there are some slight differences.
Any body got any recommendations for where to take it for the rolling road tests before and after I was going to take it to TVR power but any other recomendations would be appreciated. I live near Ironbridge/Telford area so somewhere localish would be profered.
