Looking for a set of 4 uprated springs to go with my new protechs. Anyone got any ideas where I can get some. Out of stock at Raceproved and quite a long lead time.

Here

Just make sure you get the right length and diameter.

That could be a problem as I have no idea what length or rating they are. I suppose free length is easy enough but that's not really much good I wouldn't have thought. Anyone know the specs I should be asking for?

Yep free length and internal diameter.

Fronts are different to rears. Rears are 10" and Fronts are 9" from memory but please CHECK before ordering. Mine are 2.25" diameter too I think.

Can you confirm the that they are 2.25" Jon? Also, are they 9" front and 10" rear or vice versa?

I quite fancy trying something firmer on mine. Don't know what are on there but it's whatever came with the Gaz Gold Pros.

they are also about a tenner each cheaper than the ones I just ordered, still on Cerbera cost scales £40 is chicken feed I suppose.

Just fitted the protechs with 450/400 springs. What a difference, I had no idea how crap the old setup was until I replaced it. Like a different car. Firm but not bone jarring and really inspires confidence.

Rears were dead easy but had to disconnect the upper wishbone to get new ones into place. Fronts are more of a challenge to say the least but all in all change out of 3 hours for the full change over so not a job to be frightened of for anyone considering it. You will need 19, 17, 18 mm spanners and sockets plus a 5/8" spanner and socket. God knows why that strange size ended up under there but on both sides the outer pair of camber adjustment bolts and opposing nuts were 5/8 heads.

The front and rear camber will need a check and adjust afterwards too.

Just got to sort out those pesky ARB bushes now.

Hi All,

I was going to start a new thread but this seems an apt topic to join in with.

The Car:
It's a 4.2 which was fitted with 18" Spiders (tyres: 225/40/18 front, 255/40/18 rear) not long before I took possession. As far as I can tell it's got the factory suspension set up.

The Problems:
1) Rear drivers side shock is weeping slightly, so needs replacing anyway before its MOT in September.

2) Rear tyres are rubbing on their archs over bumps and under hard acelleration.

The Questions:
1) Can anyone suggest some mid-range, all rounder, adjustable shocks? I don't want anything too trick, I'm more of a road driver than a trackday fiend!

2) I know there are both front and rear spiders available, but what's the difference? (I know you're meant to have them round a particular way on a Cerb for turning cirle etc..), but someone who know's their Tivs looked at mine and told me that I have them round the wrong way. I assumed it had all been set up right as it was done at a known TVR garage, but it seems that may now not be the case!!!

I'm all confussed now! confused

Please help!

Regards,
Olly

Hi Olly - re the spiders - the front and rear wheels have a different offset, so it often works best to have fronts all round on a Cerbera.

Oh and I have Protechs. They were recommended and I've not been disappointed. smile

Try Racing Reds. Intermediate between Nitrons/Ohlins and the lower end of the market.

So, is there a difference in the width of the front and rear spider wheels, or is it just a different offset?

Both I think.
