After nearly 5 years of ownership
Discussion
I waved my beautiful Cerbera goodbye today
Truly gutted.
I would just like to say how much I have enjoyed frequenting this great forum. Pistonheads is a great site and has been very handy in a pinch when advice has been needed through all 3 TVRs I have owned. The Cerbera in my eyes is the daddy of the the TVR clan, but thats up for debate I'm sure...
One last contribution to this forum will be in the way of a Cerbera advert. Most of the footage has been shot recently, but will need alot of editing. Will post it up once its done.
So long chaps. Its been emotional

Yours was one of the first names I came across on here when I registered about four or five years ago. Be lucky - and I look forward to your final contribution.

We're probably moving on to a T350 with a view to developing it slowly but thoroughally over the next few years. It may eventually have an LS engine, not something I would want to do to an AJP Cerbera - especially one that has proven as fantastic as ours.
To be honest; the decision is far from made, the Cerbera is worth a massive amount to us, but in reality it'll probably be one of the cheapest 4.5 out there due to its scruffy appearance/high mileage - it has needed the respray for ten years, but we use it properly, so have never bothered!! The reality is it has proven to be one of the strongest, proven and known Cerberas out there... We're weighing up the gains at present in moving to a T350/Sag(?) but we're understandably not yet convinced.

GED.... Only known you for a short while..but sense you are one of the truly committed... I am gutted i didnt snap up your car..(i threw a deposit at ged based on my first talk with him and not seeing the car.. which i think kinda shook you up ) have bought my 4.5 so the work begins.. hope i can borrow some of your knowledge..!!

Thank you all for the kind responses. It was a hard day yesterday letting her go. But needs must, as it wasn't a decision to sell, it was necessary.
I will linger and post on this forum as its such a close knit community I can't stay away from, but not my first port of call as it has been for years. I will stay in the TVR fold for now with an 'S' project of sorts. Though to what degree I havn't decided. So you will find me on the S forum more and more I think.
Nick, of course, I'm on the end of the phone if you need any help. Glad to hear you found one. Enjoy!

Thought you were doing a body off rebuild.
Not needed, outriggers were completely replaced recently at great cost, other than that it's fine. If we were to keep it we probably would do a body off, but mainly to look for opportunities to alter the rear of the chassis to accommodate sagaris mounting points/ wishbones/ driveshafts/ geometry and modify the body to fit it all. Then new wider wheels/tyres, full rebuild to 4.7litres and remove excess weight...My concern is we would spoil it and make it inelligeable to race. Of course it could also be the baddest road legal Cerb out there..
That or buy a T350C and then fit a monster LS when/if the six gives up. It's a better base for track work/ development - Wouldnt need stripping, its already lighter, more agile with its shorter chassis and just a change after 11 years. But it is no Cerbera! You can see our Dilemma.

I can indeed see your dilema. My concern is we would spoil it and make it inelligeable to race. Of course it could also be the baddest road legal Cerb out there..

I guess purley for the racing perspective, what race classes did you have in mind, guess the TVR challenge is quite loose on mods, the GT cup (Haynes/ProMill) or whatever its called would be very strict.
An LS t350 and your back to the same problem with racing.
Is Mike Sunders still campaigning a cerb in the above GT Cup series?
