Just been looking at the car (1998) whilst it was up on a ramp and noticed that it had adjustable shocks. only the one knob so assume that its compression. Is this right? didnt think that cerbs had adjustment as standard or has mine been played with by a previous owner who didnt tell me.
Many thanks

Could be that it has had the original ones replaced due to wear and some point, and had the TVR height adjustable ones fitted instead? Or it could've got proper adjustable ones (i.e. Ohlins, Nitrons, Avos). Anything written on them beneath the grime?
Height adjustable is via a spring platform (a slotted ring on a thread the damper sits on) not via a knob. If only one knob, it will be both compression & rebound damping adjustment all-in-one, which is perfectly fine unless you're into competitive racing and you know what you're doing. I would twiddle them while on the ramps in case they're a bit seized - easier to free them while up in the air! Remember to put them back where you found them, and ideally they're the same from side to side (count clicks from full anti clockwise).
