Throttle Cable replacement

Throttle cable has snapped - i have ordered a new one from clever trevor - any tips on replacing - looks akward at the pedal?

Pedal's the easiest bit (after I'd atken the driver's set out).

The real mother is threading the cable round the brake and clutch master cylinders in their minute cubbyhole. I took the covers off to help me here.

The best advice I can give is to heavily strap the non-pedal end of the new one onto the pedal-end of the old one and try and draw the new, up into the engine compartment, using the old.

Throw a goodbye party now for at least three of your knuckle coverings and two vertebrae cartiledge

Use the old one to pull the new one in.

But why didn't you just buy a brake cable off a bicycle and thread it through the outer tube of the old one?

Much simpler (and cheaper) and it does work.

Does anybody know what the correct route of the throttle cable is as after replacing mine i'm not too sure if i've got it running the correct way around the Servo & Master Cyl.

From Memory I took mine out of the bulkhead forwards and then looped out towards the drivers wheel before heading back to the engine bay.

This allowed for the extra length of cable and also prevented and kinking.

Took mine up from the pedal, through the hole in the upper footwell.
This pops up at the back of the Master Cylinders' Cubbyhole.
Then forward towards the front of the car, under the front of Clutch Master Ctlinder,
back down the cubbyhole then exit the large rubber grommit into the engine bay.

Will try and find if I have any photos of it.......
