Fans don't start

Friday smoky friday ....

Had overheating sensation tonight but on my own ! looks like all the fans didn't get into the party

The bottle released pressure as excpected at around 110°/120°
Seems a relay issue , ex owner told me it happens once

Where is it located please ? so I can check points & connections
Is there a common problem ?

The Fans not kicking in can also be caused by air in the system, so bleed the system first. I'm not sure where the relays are, but check the multi-plug connections to the fans.

Could be a bad coolant temperature sensor

The first thing to check is the contacts on the jack plugs for the fans.

They are located close to the fans and should be just under the so-called F1 panel.

Unplug them and clean them and see if that sorts it.

It just might.

It's also worth checking the connectors on above sensor. They often turn green and can be carefully scraped clean and sprayed with WD40 or such like.

I found that mine were not kicking in sometimes and on a closer inspection i noticed a ever so slight iffy connection at the sensor.

I've check connections on temp sensor & it seemed bad , cleaned & that's ok now

the fans are now starting 10° less than before ? operating below 100° was 110° reading gauge .

Is this gonna make my engine run cooler on traffic ? beetween 90° / 100° could be around a real 90°

Sounds about the same as mine now you've cleaned the contacts.

The ECU controls the fans, first one at 92 and the 2nd at 95.
Apparently to see this, you need to plug the software into the ECU on a laptop to monitor.
The temp gauges are notorious for over reading in traffic due to heat soak.

When was the coolant last changed?
Well worth flushing and replacing if over 3 years old.
Which reminds me I must do mine soon, especially as I topped up with red and apparently should use blue on the AJP and never mix like dimbo here has!
