I'm out in the Cerbera at Castle Combe on the 21st at a BHP trackday. Two TVRs, thirty Porsches, a couple of Radicals and a couple of Caterfields apparently. First time in the Cerb at a track day and a little worried about the 100db limit which I understand is rigourously enforced. Had sports pipes on but bashed them off so have had standard ones fitted and have the back end mufflers from ACT. Anyone any ideas on what the db would be now as a standard? The very helpfull chap at ACT said that the bolt-ons should reduce the noise by circa. 7db.

Have a search for db on this forum and look on the "Track Days" forum on PH too.

From what I've read you should be under 100db with standard exhaust and silencers (you may not even need the silencers). Also depends if you have your cats?

My first standard Cerbera measured 107dB down at Coombe where it was at just below 100 everywhere else. Ended up using some Merlin Motorsport mufflers and got down to 100 exactly...

Some silencers from my old Cerbera (that was written off !).
I am sure he is open to offers as all the bits were thrown in for free when I sold the car.

John you should be fine. Had my cerb with sports exhausts measured a couple of weeks ago at Goodwood. Level was 108db. So if you are now on std pipes and mufflers you should be below 100db.

If in doubt find out when your nearest track is a give them a ring. They are usually only too happy to do db measurements, usually at no charge.

4.2 Standard exhaust, De-cat 118dB at Castle Combe.
106dB with Tail pipe inserts from Peninsula.
99 -100dB with inserts and Merlin mufflers.

Still have the inserts and Mufflers. I'll be at Castle Combe for the TVRCC track day in June. I'll bring the silencers along 'cos it ain't no fun listening to the cars go by for an hour while trying to get your own car below the limit. Anybody who needs to borrow them that day will be welcome.
