Anyone Planning Any Trackdays

As the title says, it is getting very near spring so I was wondering if any of you are planning on getting your cerbs out on track. Would be good to get together for a bit of high speed fun somewhere. Perhaps Nicky could have a word with Gary at Circuit Days and get us a discount.

I fancy Mallory Park, nice and central quite quick in places and just resurfaced.

Hi Graham, I not taking the Cerb as the engine is out at the moment but I'm going to Abingdon on the 25th with my 306 Rallye. Its a open pitlane day for £125 (i think) . Ive been before several times and its very good value. Always a complete mix of cars from a Turbo charged Volvo Amazon to a GT3. Surface is good with plenty of run off as its an airfield. Go on www.trackdays.co.uk and have a look.
Be nice to see some TVR's even if its not mine.

I'd certainly be up for a Cerbera trackday. My main concern would be noise levels - I've a feeling I'd be over most circuit limits - and I know I'm probably not the loudest...

I'm up for one. Need to get some miles on the new lump before the season. Still have the passenger seat in aswell!

Abingdon have a 100dB noise limit, rules me out 107dB static is my normal reading;-(

I got away with it once at Brands. No such luck the next time around.Car went 112db on the meter.

Yep, I'm up for it! Will have a look and a chat and see if any deals are available .

I still haven't changed the steering rack in the Cerb, but hoping to do so in the next couple of weeks in readiness for a pootle around a circuit or two .

Nickccc should be about out of hibernation come March as well

I'm off to Spa in April with Circuit days - 105dB noise limit for that one, though I hear they are quite lenient anyway.

I am booked in for Lydden Hill on Saturday for a bit of a pre sprint season warm-up.

Im booked in at Bedford Autodrome Saturday 26th February clubMSV, just a Taster session but what I'm really interested to see is if my cerb passes the noise test, 101db static & 87db drive by. If it gets through OK we get 20 mins on track for £25.00 then I'll be happy to book up some full days.

I've heard there some temporary silencers you can just plug over the tailpipes? Anyone tried these - are they effective?

I'm supposed to be going to Anglesey in the summer with the VX220 crowd - supposedly a lenient circuit, but I don't want to become infamous for being first to get chucked off...

I had a great few hours at Bedford early winter last year - my Cerbera is decatted but with a 4.5 back box. The noise testing chap was really helpful and constructive. There are four microphones around the circuit, ease off in plenty of time and almost coast past . The particularly excellent news, is that the back straight with the chicane has no microphones . It's a great circuit. I hope you get on and I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Thanks Amazon, well my cerb still has the cats but a sports exhaust so I guess it's just a case of keeping finger crossed. I have done a few track days on my bike but this will be the first in a car so I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm at Bedford on the 28th of feb in my 4.2 with decats and standard back box,I've been ok so far with noise there,comes in at 100.8dB!

But actually its fine once I am lapping,never had an issue. Look forward to seeing some of you guys over the warmer months!

Love to do some track days with some other Cerbs, two problems are
that I work away and the other is that i'm in the North East. Croft is out
now unless you drive a toyota prius.

As for exhausts, used to run a 4.5 back box on my decatted 4.2. Made about 107dB.
Never had any problem getting on track but was advised to lift off the gas very slowly
to try and avoid the pops and bangs on over run when doing the static test.
Also the bull of its a big V8 and doesn't rev high sometimes works!!
Just installing an ACT system behind the latest manifolds so will be interested to
see how loud it is. I'm keeping the original system in case its too loud for track.

I also have both the tailpipe inserts and the extra cans for extra silencing. Niether of which
I have had to use - yet.

I may be doing Donni on the 18th of March, as i am going to promote my pads as a title sponsor, however it is 98db!! i am going to have to knock summat up, but if you take it steady past pit wall you can get away with alot...
