Topgear Aylesbury Powerflow exhausts

Hello,

Before my fuel pump issues (see other topic) I went to Topgear in Aylesbury for a bespoke exhaust system.

All I can say is that I have never felt so satisfied spending money on my car! The time they took and the system they created speaks volumes for there establishment.

I am so happy with it! I wanted it pretty standard looking and it is, beautiful tailpipes right where they should be, nice and high.

I didn't want too loud a system due to already installing a linked de-cat pipe. The sound in my opinion is perfect, actually sounds like a racing car on the road .

Super happy with it, lifetime guarantee too.

The system was straight through pipes from the de-cat back to two small stainless silencers at the rear, and then replica tailpipes in new stainless.

I paid £580 all in which I think is superb value.

Not a Cerb but I used them for an exhaust on my MX5 Turbo. They did a fabulous job and got it sounded EXACTLY as I wanted it.

What diameter did you go for so as to get the right flow etc?
Is it a loud system ?

I just kept the same diameter as I wanted it as quiet as possible with linked de-cats.

So that's 2" I think?

The car sounds perfect imo, unbelievable at around 5000rpm! Just beautiful .

Not too loud around town and I'm hoping low enough to get on track.

Really happy with it.

And it's not too loud with a decat???

I am in the situation where my latest OEM cats on my 4.5 have stated to rattle when hot again which is starting to bug me.

The car has a sports exhaust (like yours with 2 small silencers) and I fancy going the decat route as I don't want to be rattling again soon.

However, I posted this question a while back and the feeling on here is that it will be too loud.

However, are linked de-cats considerably quieter than the unlinked decat pipes???

I guess I could ditch the stainless sports exhaust for a std back box.

my sports exhaust and decat isnt loud whereas my 2nd cerb was f'ing loud. It all depends...

My exhaust was in poor condition before hand so it's hard to judge just how quiet it is compared to other systems.

Powerflow will make what you want, I still wanted straight through pipes and two silencers at the rear so that's what I got .

The sound is utterly superb and not boomy at all at low rpm/town driving.

The silencers are Birchills.

I think that the linked de-cats are known to be quieter than independent ones, it is a nice bit of kit for sure.

I think if you wanted quieter, you could ask Powerflow to put a box in where the de-cat is and that'd be a nice system?

These pictures aren't great but give you the idea of how nice the fit is for the rear boxes, nice and high with the tailpipes perfect imo.

The guy who opened the Aylesbury one used to work in St Albans I believe. Had an exhaust done there for my brothers V8 90. We supplied new down pipes and Y piece which they fitted along with a custom stainless exhaust for the rest. £190 all in.

Seemed a lot pricier when we last went to Aylesbury though, they wanted over £400 for an MGF exhaust, which was only one silencer and some very short lengths of pipe.

Hi Matt,

That does seem expensive considering the small amount of material involved.

In comparison I'd definitely say £580 is a good price for what is effectively two systems on one car.

It took 5 hours to do and I respect that labour alone has to make up a decent part of the cost.

I note that you're not far from me (live in Kempston/work in MK), if you're serious about a Cerbera I'm happy to take you for a spin sometime once I have mine running right .
