Paint for springs?

While the dampers are away to Nitron for refurb, I thought I'd give the springs a little cosmetic spruce-up.

Anyone got advice on what paint I could use? Needs to be something with decent rust protection, isn't too fussy and being painted onto less than perfectly prepared surfaces, and dry flexible enough not to crack under the movement of the spring.

In the abscence of better suggestions they'll get a coat of underseal gunk, but it would be nice to have something a bit prettier

Considering how cheap they are I'd just get new ones, lightweight titanium ones.
No seriously, if the paint will not be applied to a decent base it'll not last too long
anyway, so maybe a spray can of something as near as possible to the existing colour.

Where can you get titanium springs from? Sounds like a plan!

I would like to know this also.

I acquired some nitrons and the springs were a bit tatty so I have just given them quite a few light coats of black hammerite spray paint. It will be interesting to know if this flakes off or not when the springs are doing their stuff!

The option I had thought of was getting them blasted and powdercoated but I took the former option as I had a can of paint to hand
