The Purple Pipes Are History!

Hi All
My biggest gripe under my bonnet has always been the dreaded purple pipes. And even though I've replaced them in the past for brand new like for like it's not too long before they begin to turn brown, flatten and start rubbing and exposing the embedded wire.
As the car was at Power for it's annual service, MOT, tyres, pads,etc I thought I'd get an ACT short induction kit with carbon fibre airbox backplates and trumpets.
Once again Dom and the lads have worked their magic and made a superb job of the airbox backplates which I gather can be a bit tricky to get just right.
I also took the opportunity to have goodridge hose fitted to all the brake callipers, another worthwhile upgrade I've meant to get done for a while.
All capheads have also been changed for stainless steel as some were quite rusty.
During the drive back from Power I've noticed the induction noise is slightly differant, a bit deeper more throaty I think. As for the power delivery, I've just got to bed the tyres in a bit before giving it the beans to see how much that's changed too. I can hardly wait!

are your air boxes standard? mine look much more of a matt finish, looks great by the way.
Yes the air boxes were totally standard up until a couple of days ago when I had the new backplates fitted.I think on the very late models the air boxes were finished in gloss black at the factory.

Nice one Simon...was over there last Friday morning...they were working on your cerbera then, looking good mate.
It didn't occur to me just how much more room you car has around the bulkhead to access things like the starter motor and 100amp fuse,
think this is to accomodate the speeed six lump..so when you go ajp ...hey presto more room.
I will probably pop round Power tonight on the way home from work as I owe em £20 ...my card was rejected as it had been "cloaned"
Glad you are joining us on the run Saturday...gonna get some more work done on my cerb tonight...door speakers are now trimmed gonna fit my MB Quarts tonight still awaiting more purple leather for the door cards.
