The cost just depends on what you ask for.
I think Steve focusses on LS2 / 3 ? I think he is circa £10K???
Check on lead times as you dont want your car off the road for a year?
Brummies mate in Birmingham seems to know what he is doing.
Then of course if you have twice the budget or more there is the chaps that did the Sag conversion. It looks a much better conversion but you need to weigh up the advantages v's the price.

Cheers mate.
I'm really just wanting a good value per mph project. No fixed sum in mind. It has a really good 4.2 lump, so I guess I can flog this and recoup some cash that way.
I bought the Cerb cheap and the whole reason that I bought it, was because I knew that I needed some yank muscle in there.

Raceproved are developing a 4.8 conversion from a 4.2 engine. I'm really just wanting a good value per mph project. No fixed sum in mind. It has a really good 4.2 lump, so I guess I can flog this and recoup some cash that way.

Have a chat with Brummie he can tell you how best to approach it, what sort of budget etc?
You will pay big money for an LS7 unit, better value are bored and stroked LS3's as mine is, if you are looking for big horsepower.
Or if you want more value a used LS1 is the cheapest option.
Sky is the limit on power, how fast can you afford to go!?
We built mine at Dyno Torque, 0121 753 0415, ask for Craig.
HTH.

I dont think Steve has done an LS7 yet and he uses the existing gearbox, which I am not sure would last long with an LS7. The cost in crate engines between an LS3 and an LS7 may not be much, but I believe the conversion may be made more difficult by the dry sump etc etc...
Give Steve (shpub), Brummmies mate (name escapes me, but his PH ID is Tinker-27 or something like that) and Topcats (google them) an email enquiring about it all?

I think Steve will happily fit an uprated etc gearbox should you want to spend the money / need it. Give Steve (shpub), Brummmies mate (name escapes me, but his PH ID is Tinker-27 or something like that) and Topcats (google them) an email enquiring about it all?

Do check lead times - you can be at the mercy of parts and you dont want it away for a year.

Here is another magazine about a LS3 Cerbera:

A nice Cerbera with a powerful engine is something really nice it seems.

Cost on LS7 was around 2x as much, dunno now but cant see why its changed.Give Steve (shpub), Brummmies mate (name escapes me, but his PH ID is Tinker-27 or something like that) and Topcats (google them) an email enquiring about it all?
I scoured for my bits, my LS3 already bored and race prepped block came from the classifieds in the States for $900, the pistons and rings (Mahle forged) were $600, and Thunder Racing cut me a few deals on bits, and the Kinslers were off a broken Mosler.
IF it were all off the shelf it would be fairly big money, but take your time and...

Is there somewhere a depiction what parts etc you used for your conversion?I scoured for my bits, my LS3 already bored and race prepped block came from the classifieds in the States for $900, the pistons and rings (Mahle forged) were $600, and Thunder Racing cut me a few deals on bits, and the Kinslers were off a broken Mosler.

The mentioned ones above sound interesting.
What did it cost overall approximately?
Thanks!

There is considerable difference in price of a LS7 over a LS1/2/3. Maybe consider ZR1 levels of perfromance.Go LS3 and stick a blower on it.Give Steve (shpub), Brummmies mate (name escapes me, but his PH ID is Tinker-27 or something like that) and Topcats (google them) an email enquiring about it all?
The OP could try these guys.I'm thinking of using them for mt Vette.

The ZR1 is a LS9 supercharged 6.3 ltr that puts out 635 bhp.
Really serious prices for a blowerkit.
I talked to shpub about a blowersetup an the way Steve puts the engine in he's already counting with a possible blower upgrade/bracket. I do not know if one of Steve's customers already decided to go for the blower upgrade. I would take some engineering to get right. Procharger offers a kit which consists out of a bracket and a blower for a LS angine. It is the serpentine kit.
With relative low pressures it should be possible to gain a lot in power. Compared to LS7, I really think that there is no match for the combination of the engine shpub is using in combination with a blowerkit. The LS7 is too expensive in my opinion.
There is always the other possibility of adding a cam. This wil take the engine shpub is using in the 500hp range. A cam is cheaper, but wil require a rollingroadsession also.
You have to take into account that other things wil have to be modified also (gearbox, driveshafts).

ls7s are big money and in my view not wodth the money,ls2-3s are he best value but it all depends on your budget even a ls1 with a decent cam and head can still make 400@ wheels which is not to be sniffed at. i would not use the std box as they are not up to the job sell it and buy a box that will take all the abuse you want to give it.also pick the right ratio box,i can give you more help if you want o ring me or pop in (im in birmingham) cheers craig 01217530415
