Headroom

Hi,

As I said in another thread I'd like to buy a Cerbera to replace my E36 M3 this year. However something that's bothered me with the E36 is headroom especially with a crash helmet on (for trackdays). I realise the Cerbera has a low roof, however the seating position is also quite low?

I'm 6'4", any lanky, trackday going Cerb owners on here?

Hi,

I'm 6'3" or there abouts, and although Peter Wheeler insisted on all his TVR's being accomodate his skyscraper frame it took me quite a while to get my driving position sorted. I've not worn a lid while driving, but I've ridden shotgun in a fellow PHer's Cerb on track and I did feel restricted. I guess your overall height is irelivent, it's the dimension from your 'H-point' (where your body bends in the middle!) to the top of your head that is critical. I'm sure Amazon (another PHer) will be able to offer further opinion, Nicky, are you out there?

the later style tuscan seats have the middle part that is removable which easily gives you another inch or two, haven't tried driving without it yet. although i'm only 5 eleven, i find that i nut the roll bar more than anything if i forget where it is.

I'm just under 6'5" and although it's snug in the Cerb there is still a couple of centimeters to spare. Now if I was wearing a helmet then that might be a different story...

You might also want to try the two different shaped Cerberas - the earlier cars have front sun visors and a more "looking through a letter box" style front windscreen, the later cars don't have visors and may give you a better view out. You can tell the differences between the cars most easily by looking at the front "A" pillars - the early cars have a carbon effect sheild, the later cars are body covered. There are also some minor differences to the roof shape as well.

Later cars also come with the Tuscan type seats, which have a removable seat squab you coud take out for track use.

Compared with other posters, I feel somewhat vertically challenged at "only" 6 foot tall but find tht with a helmet on, recline the seat a bit more and pull it a bit closer to the wheel does the trick.

Thanks, usefull info re spotting a facelift too.
I think I'll have to take my lid along for a test drive. That should strike fear into potentail sellers.
