Tried doing a search but not very productive; so -
What would be the most likely culprits to look for to find where rainwater is entering into the footwells?
Quite a lot in the drivers side, not so bad on passenger side. Nothing has been disturbed recently in that area (eg clutch reservoir cover) so I was wondering what the most common means of leaking were rather than looking randomly.

i'd start with the door seals, i'm still having fun with mine, one minute was nice and dry then next water, have improved it vastly but todays rain was the first test after a another new seal put on dry without any silicon as that acted as a lubricant and the seal slid off. but todays rain has only produced a little water, nothing major which is a good sign.

If you look under the bonnet and take off the panel below the windscreen you will see the clutch fluid cover, this goes straight in to the foot well and should be sealed. Same goes for the accelerator cable.

Indicator side repeaters are often over looked, the foam between them and the wing degrades and allows water ingress

Don't worry too much - there is no way for that water to get into the footwell - at least not until the entire wing has about 4 inches of water sloshing about in it.

Mine used to live outside...but is garaged now,but when it did live outside i used to get a swimming pool in the footwell!
You are one of the lucky ones Kev & its stayed looking really well & gives others hope if they dont have a garage.

I just used to roll my jeans up save them getting wet!
