Steering Lock Stops

My front wheels seem to drag slightly on full lock - don't know why as I only have 16" inch wheel but there you go. I know that lock stops can be fitted but what are they, where do they go and where do you get them from? Anyone got any pictures of some?

They are avail through the various online TVR parts sites.
They are simply plastic rings that go onto the steering rack so as to limit the steering.

Is it just one side?

Would suggest that your rack is not central if your managing to rub 16s. Are they touching the upper wishbone?

It's on one side that I've particularly noticed it - I've not looked where it's rubbing yet though. How can the rack not be central though? - the bolt holes aren't slotted from memory?

I had a very similar problem but with 18" Spiders, in my case I fitted lock stops to both sides (3-5mm each side should do it), also get your geometry professionally set with 1mm toe in overall on the front.HTH

Yo could have the track rods unequally screwed on the ends and then the rack position offset. This will allow you greater lock one way than the other.

To check turn you wheel from lock to lock and see if you get even amounts of rotation either side of the straight-ahead.

Ridds - you may well be right about the track rod end being screwed on unequal amounts - I'll check. The geo has been setup but it was set to camber 1deg 20min and toe near enough 0deg (2-3min) - is this not correct? The geo sheet say TVR Cerbera, Tuscan, Tamora and T350 (modified specification)
