Front Anti Roll bar drop links

Can any one tell me what size bolt goes through the top anti roll bar link without me having to take the wheel off and take the bolt out. I had the steve heath drop links fitted but they have used spring washers as spacers that really limit the movement of the rose joint, so am planning on making some proper spacers at work on the lathe, but need the measurement of the bolt. I know the lower bolt that bolts the link to the roll bar is 10mm.

oh and if you know the rears would be a great help to as i suspect they have used the same method.

The reason why I used the sq spring washers is because I found that spacers crushed when the bolt was torqued up but I still needed to provide a spacer to help with articulation. The square shoulder washers are marginally bigger than the spherical bearing diameter but are strong enough to take the torque. They offer more than enough articulation for the movement.

Also bear in mind that spacers will require about 6-8 mm width to provide the movement on both sides and that this will move the rod ends out and may cause more of a problem that the spacer solves. Without the width, the rod end hits the bolt/nut head. This additional offset may then cause the geometry to change and then cause a lock out. Using a spacer can improve the misalignment angle but cause the rod ends to make bigger angles and so losing any advantage.

thanks for that, and explaining why they was used, the reason i questioned it as i have never seen spring washers used on a rose joint before usually a spacers to give the movement.

Its only because i found the lock nut lose that i took one off to measure and correct it and saw the washers. I never fitted them as i had them fitted when the car was serviced last year, but now i know why all i will have to do is to replace the upper nyloc nuts.
