Bonnet lift

I'd really like to know if bonnet lift is something others worry about? I've been out in my Cerbera this morning and anything above 65mph 'quite windy on the motorway' the bonnet lifts more than I feel comfortable with. The locking pins etc are in perfect working order.

Any suggestions as I dont want the AJP to escape!

also available in flush fitting so they can be body coloured. I have verified them to 195MPH, no lift and almost no bonnet shimmy.

Have you got the splitter/spolier fitted underneath the car? It's a only a cheap bit of angled Alloy, but it does make a big difference to reducing bonnet lift, that is what it is for.

No, I dont have one fitted - Does anyone know the best place to source one?

Yup, that's the Chappy. Fit it so it's angled backwards

I dont have the metal spoiler but I dont get any bonnet lift.
The bonnet catches are padded out slightly with some velcro stuff so as to get a firm purchase.

Good tip, I have now ordered in addition to the lip spoiler a reel of velcro - thanks to all that have replied.

Tried a few things to stop this, replaced the grommets in the bonnet brackets and added small rubber pads to the scuttle panel. This gave the locking knob a real positive feel when locking the bonnet, the bonnet was firmly down with no movement. Then the alloy lock rods snapped, remade them from steel tubing with a threaded rods brazed in the ends and fitted the splitter. Fine on track well over three figure speeds, no lift at all.

I have aero catches too, you can see on that vid of mine that the bonnet grows at around the end of 3rd 130mph. The old system is fairly weak, but there is alot of force pushing that bonnet up, mine delaminated at Vmax, you could barely see over the top!! and i had to bond it back to the cross brace.

As for the lip spoiler, any idea as how to fix it to the car? I have one waiting to go on but before i start drilling holes under there i want to be sure.

You'll find the holes are already there - or they should be.

Yes it has holes there but if the last one has been ripped off i'd imagine them redundant now. Is it a pop rivet job or some self tapping screws?

I use self tappers, dipped in copper grease to try and stop them rusting in.

It is handy to be able to remove it, as I did this morning when it was loaded onto a flatbed. If you don't remove it the cable can rip it off when pulling the car onto the truck.
