I've heard some good things about these and I'm thinking about replacing my Toyo proxies with these. Has anyone got them on their Cerbs or heard anything about them on light RWD cars?
will look into these cos my toyo's are nearly there.,i have the track version on at the mo so going to get a road friendly set up nowDon't know about the Federals, I've had a set of regular Federals on an old family wagon a couple of years ago which I wasn't very impressed with. However, I have Hankook RS2's on my current daily, an Integrea Type-R, and am massively impressed with them, much stickier and more progressive than the T1Rs that are on the Cerb. They will definitely be going on my Cerb next.
They are OK, more like 70% of grip of 888's in the dry, i span mine at Oulton with these on. A road tyre not a bad at all.
I have just put the only 225/35-18 available from TOYO on the front, which is the T1 Sport, T1R is now discontinued.
They are brilliant, in terms of making the car completely tram line free and not darting for the hedge over bumps.
Would like to have tried the Pirelli PZero Nero (225/35-18), but out of stock and no date.
Because my rims are .5" wider than stock, scraping is even more of an issue with a 40-18".
These cars are so prone to tyre choice, a stiff tyre wall seems to ruin them.
But these tyres with the bump steer kit, is the most relaxing it has ever driven.

RS2's do seem to get a good write up. I didnt realize they were a trackday tyre?Gazzab said:
Were the toyos 'old'?
Had them on from new (T1R btw) and was never too impressed with them. Deadly in the wet and even in the dry they need a lot of heat to stay sticky. The Kumhos are reasonably sticky from cold and get very good when well heated up. I still don't go a bundle on taking the car out in the wet but at least I can now without worrying too much about ending up ploughing the local fields. The only time I was impressed with the Toyos was straight off the dyno at Emerald when they were all but molten but despite some quite spirited driving to test out my new setup they were going cold and losing grip after a couple of miles. When they were red hot I could hold traction at full beans in second gear, cold I could easily lose the back on good motorway tarmac in third. I got over 20k out of them which to me indicates that I drive like my granny or they are too hard. Driving too slow is not something I get accused of very often.Brummmie said:

This is a very good/interesting point as a lot of people actually go in search of a stiff tyre wall for good steering feel. However, due to the relative lightness of the Cerb, I have come to the same conclusion trying different tyres.I quite fancy trying the Hankook RS-2 or the Hankook Ventus V12 evo next.
fatjon,
I found the Kumho KU31 very good in the dry on a couple of different cars, not great in the wet though but ok.

dont go for hankook v12 evos i put a set on a 944 and ive never experieved such a vague feeling tyre ever!evo magazine said the same thing in a tyre test on a mx5 last year
Thanks for the warning, I have read good reviews about this tyre and the Mitsubishi evo guys like them.I was surprised to read the evo mag review and see it do so poorly.
