Left Hexham Horseless carriages in the car following a major service, new radiator, induction hoses and other work. Travelled 100 yard up the road and halfway through roundabout the oil pressure warning light came on and the power steering stopped working. Wrestled the car back to HHC (with no oil pressure) for investigation, seems the jack shaft that drives the pas and oil pumps has sheared.

Its an engine out job to rectify and I am having the engine sent to TVR power for the RR conversion.

Wont see the car again until Sept so I'm a bit fed up to be honest.......

Just wondering if the chip upgrade can be caried out on a RR engine? (Joolz?)

Also, any thoughts on the best exhaust set up for a RR engine, i.e decat with standard backbox, or sports exhaust with cats???

You can chip a 4.5RR (there's a graph on here somewhere showing the benefit)

yup yuo will be able to *austec* the RR ecu or *emerald* another ecu in there. both will give gains even over the best mapping the facyory can offer

Andy, sorry to hear of your problems.

However, the double whammy of the TVR Power RR & the Joospeed / Austec Chip is
sounding very tempting to me.

Am very sorry to hear of your problem.

Can the dealer lend you a TVR for at least a short time or periodically?

Regards

Martyn.

Hi Tony (HHC) any chance of a TVR loan car for a few days? I cant cope with the excitement of driving my Volvo for much longer...

I think I was way down on the list for the chip upgrade, have you decided not to go ahead with the service Joolz? If you are still doing it any chance of doing mine by Sept (2004)....?
