For a bit of fun how many bits come from other car manufacturer's to make up a standard factory cerbera....

Brakes(calipers) - AP racing
Coolant Tank - VW
Clutch(slave) - *AP racing
ECU - *MBE
GearBox - Borg-Warner
Radiator - Land Rover (moded by TVR)
Rear Lights - Ford Fiesta
Windscreen Wiper Motor - Mini
Wheel nuts - Jeep Cherokee
Throttle pots - Ford Mondeo

* = (licensed part) they won't sell you one without going through TVR. You won't get one through TVR because they won't pay their bill because they are up for sale. or so some say.

Please correct or add any others if you know.

Andy

This would be a useful addition to Graham's (GCerbera) TCR website. A list of what parts come from what.
I'm assuming that the 'components' section is partly for this purpose.

Hit the nail on the head kojak69.

We have a fellow PHer working hard on the technical section to get it up and running,
but any contributions to the site are always welcome.

Thats great news Graham.
These are common questions on here. 'What car does this come off' or 'where can i get one of these from'.
Very useful.

I think you'll actually find that the Alvis Scorpion was a light tank/recce vehicle based on the CVR(T),(Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked)), chasis, and not a self proppelled gun which would make it an Artillery piece.

For the pedants amongst us.

It's a tracked vehicle with a big'ish gun that's all I know and I think the matchbox model I used to have as a child called it a tank, never mind

Oh and I think I heard once the front headlight come from a Bristol Bus of come sort (might not be a Bristol but it rings a bell).

I asked that a while ago, hoping they were from a Mini, and was told that they came from a Scania truck?!

I suppose that just goes to show how much we need the list doing!

My two pennys worth...

* Plastic clips used everywhere are the same stuff as you can get in Halfords.

* The front lights (pre new pods) are from Bosch

* The little black boxes for the components are from RS electronics.

* The boot lock thingy is from that famous british caravan company if i remember correctly.

I've missed quite a few, I went through this list yonks back... well I think you can upgrade the throttle pots with Cosworth jobbies I heard....

Graham, as a heads-up - there are legal issues around suggesting alternative parts sources... over in the S series forum there is a little controversy on the issue with relation to the TVRCC...

Thanks Podie - I've been reading and watching the posts here and at the tvrcc.

I think with the correct disclaimer and the fact that my site is not in anyway official,
should be enough.

Thanks for the thought.

Must admit what has happened with the TVRCC is a shame, but I understand their position. Good work with the TCR site by the way... allows us "lower in the ranks" to dream...
