16" Spiders?

From what I understand there are 16" Spider wheels available? Are they in any way better in terms of fitment or stability as opposed to the 18"? If anyone would have a picture available of them fitted on a Cerb that would be great.

Hello,

One of the problems you will find with 16" wheels is the lack of tyre choice for 245/45/16.

So bad that I bought a set of RL7's so that I could have more options when buying tyres .

Thx Duncan for the heads up. I looked into the availability of 245/45/16 on this side of the channel and I should get them... e.g. Bridgestone Potenza, or Toyo T1-R which would suit fine.

In the meantime I searched where to get the 16" Spiders and found them here:

They state however that they are for the Tamora, so I have sent an inquiry wether they could go on the Cerbera also.

Anyway before I head out and buy some I would be interested in some more opinions about the wheel in general. There are some threads in the PH archive that I am currently reading in parallel, but alternatives/ ideas would be welcome also. I am searching for

- the looks of the Spider wheel, or similarly good looking wheel
- 16" to maintain ride quality and easy fitment
- would not be sad about higher quality also, as I heard the Spiders are made of chocolate

Strong, relatively light, the 6 spoke versions look "similar" to the spiders and they have good brake calliper clearance. Plus you can get staggered widths front and rear which would allow you to have a wider rear tyre.

They are custom made too so fittment should be easy.

More into the looks of the RL7, but those Compomotives are beautiful indeed.

Front and rear offsets are different on the T cars, if you use a front and rear set you may get rubbing on the rears (same as some people do on the 18" spiders) as they may sit out a bit wide. Normal 18" work around is a set of fronts all round, then you have same 42mm offset on each corner, you'll may then still need to fit lock stops to restrict the turning circle in order to stop the insides snagging, 42mm offset also not perfect on a Cerb!! 16" Spiders will still be soft but you at least will have more tyre to protect it from gettting mashed out of shape. Personally as far as 16" wheels go I think the OZ Saturns look better than a 16" Spider and are a far superior wheel, seen some pics of Cerbs running 16" Spiders and look a bit odd.
