Well Ive owned my cerb over 7 years ...

Not been on pistonheads for years and a whole new load of folks!

My story goes back nearly 2 years I had a string of irritations a after swapping to S/S and silicon water pipes ... then new rad and A/C rad then wrong reciever dryer for A/C then on road and air lock caused over heating ... then all rosey until MOT time ... booked in and went to take it and clutch pedal dropped to the floor ... aaargh

didnt take it in ... tried bleeding clutch and to my amazement its ok again (was new clutch and slave)

She then sat in my garage for a few months due to other commitments ... I have a pit and decided to check the underside and to my horror the outriggers had gone to holes ... double aargh

I decided as Im a tight wad to chop them off and weld in new ones (TIG welding friend helped) in situ
I removed the interior and cut access holes and now all sorted and solid .. interior refitted and it even started first time after removing all the plugs adding oil to the bores and getting oil pressure up!

SO .. long story short with tax and insurance this week Im back on the road ...

Im excited and nervous ... I hope it will rekindle my friendship with and old buddy !

So hello to all as it feels like Im a newbie! - do you cerbie types still meet up like we did in the old days ???

Peter Best for insurance, I was gobsmacked with their quote, in a good way.
Obviously dependent on you age, driving history ect.

David, what else did you do to keep the car fine in that time? After fixing the starter issue that appeared on the morning of a viewing today - we noticed a problem with the throttle pots that was intermittently causing it to not run at 100% - the car itself ran fine, it says alot about the power of the AJP that you can barely notice when one bank isn't working to its full potential... We've sorted this, and took the Cerb for a run down our private test track nearby - Its a f*cking violently fast car that - it just goes bloody mental. Not been for a decent blat in it for a few months, and even then I don't think it was 100% like it is now. Dads decided that we will not lower the price at all, it'll stay advertised for another week, and if it sells to the right person, ok... if not, we're bloody keeping it. We would rather keep it stored in a garage for the next couple of years with the occaisional track outing, than sell it for below what is already a price that grossly under-represents the cars true value.
