How loud is my car??

I am lucky enough to be going on a corporate/VIP day at Castle Coombe next month where we can drive a variety of cars and can also put our own cars on the circuit. Someone from the circuit is coming back to me with the decibel limit but I was just wondering how loud my car is very roughly.

It has no cats and sports pipes, do I stand a hope in hell?? Probably not!

Absolutely not chance I'd say.

Mine has non-standard cats and sports pipes and is 114db at 3k.

That's a good idea but I don't have an Itelephone contraption

I think I will just take the car and if I get on track then great, if not I will just have to drive expensive Italian tat instead!

Be carefull the measurement on these meters is dBC Frequency weighting: C
What do they use at the trace dBA I expect.

ACT manifolds
Decats
Sports pipes with probably not much silencing

its actually measured at half a metre from each pipe, i was there recently, you may want to guess again

Mine was 116db with a similar setup.

Tell the guy you`ve just had an engine rebuild and can`t rev above 2k, then tell him the throttle jammed open when you got on the track!
