New Cerbera owner :-D
Discussion
Oh yessss!!!!!
Finally, after literally 8 years of wanting I am a proud owner of a TVR Cerbera 4.2
.
Picked it up today and couldn't be happier! Unbelievable car!
It is starmist green which is a colour that in the flesh I love!
It already has sports exhausts and Nitrons fitted
!
Hasn't sunk in yet, It'll take me a while to get used to owning such an amazing car. Simply the most beautiful car in the world to me
.
Expect to see a lot more of me around here
.

Nice one Duncan
Good choice in colour !! all too often you hear how blue is best, but latest trends show green is the new blue
Being local to me just watch the new Higham/Rushden bypass it's a nice road but a bit uneven from Chelveston road to A6 you will bottom out @nsl*2+ .
Hope to see you at Northants meet July.
Keep it on the black stuff.

Thanks for the warm welcome
.
Have spent all day today (gorgeous weather!) giving P-rides to all my friends and family!
To say I love this car is gross understatement!
My dream car is better than I could have hoped for and I own it!
Thanks for the warning on the bypass
. Been down there a few times in my old Celica and was never a huge fan.
As for the next Northants meet I hope to be there
BTW can anyone give me a good and bad figure for fuel consumption? As in how much I should get to a tank full?
I know the first tank will be crap (230ish!) as I've been giving the people (including me) what they want
.
Some first impressions are:
Much easier to drive than expected with the power delivery being silky smooth rather than spikey (2.0 turbo motors!).
Makes all sorts of noises! Vibration in transmission tunell at certain revs etc
Few flat spots, thankfully, as I did my hime work I'm not to worried about this but a good tune will help I'm sure
.
Sounds horrible at tickover but everyone loves it
.
Heater/aircon controls are impossible to work out, something for an experienced Cerb owner to show me at a meet perhaps?
The car is completely awesome and I agree with Mister Meldrew about it being the best looking car of the last 20 years (biased moir?)
.
Lastly, I challenge anyone to think of a better car for the money! impossible methinks and worth so much more than mere money!
Oh and another thing
. My temp gauge has been reading a steady 90-95 and going to 100 before the fan cuts in.
Is the above ok?
My oil pressure gauge has been steady between 40-50 gove or take depending on revs.
Is the above ok?
Lastly (honest!) the key in the dash, is it the electri cut out? if so, one of my mates almost turned it (I stopped him) but it isn't turned fully either way, which way should it be turned (too scared to touch it!).
Did I mention I'm fairly happy with t

Fuel consumption: 10 on the track, 16 - 20 general, up to 30 on a run.
Transmission Vibration: if that's around 2000 rpm then it is normal.
Heater - A/C not so difficult: Switch the ignition on, turn both knobs clockwise. The hot and cold fans should now be running fast, if not push the knobs in to switch the fans on. Set the fan speed by rotating the knobs. If you want A/C turn the hot fan off and press the AC button. There should be heated rear screen and A/C buttons below the fan buttons.
Temp Gauge: Exactly as mine was. If the temp rises above this in traffic you might want to check the fan is pulling air through the radiator, mine was pushing hot air from the engine bay through the radiator. At about 30mph I had no cooling at all.
Oil Pressure: 40 - 50 psi is fine.
Dashboard key: This switches the ECU's on and off, (I think), certainly is is the master OFF switch. You must never switch this off when you are driving. "On" is rotated clockwise. I used to switch this off when I left the car but that seemed to cause problems with the ignition ECU which could need resetting. After having that a couple of times I never turned the switch off again and never had to reset the ECU again.
Enjoy
Thanks for reassuring me Robert
.
The ECU key is sort of in the middle at the moment so I'll swing it all the way back on
.
As you have all probably guessed I am loving this car so much
.
As for pwig, I've known him (on forums) since before he could drive so I don't take his swearing too seriously
.
Pics will be taken when I can steal my Bro's digital camera

I have the pics now, anyone know where I can upload them to?
Try www.fotango.com I use these and found them to be good...
As another first time cerbera owner (collected it this weekend ) I too am staggered by the beast !
already embarased myself misjudging the turning circle, and stallimg the car in traffic, but what a piece of machinary !
looking at the engine compartment photo above, you can see the fans, whereas mine has a cowl ( with TVR logo moulded in ) over them. doesen`t seem to affect the temp, as it runs 95 to 100 in traffic, and 80 on the open road,
has there been a change in the engine bay ?

Yup, basically they moved the washer water tank to the front side from the middle, and created a better flow for the cold air going through, I think they tried to create a hot over cold air vector in the engine bay, but in practice I dont think it makes much difference, maybe 5c tops....
Hi,
450 miles in 3 days, its just amazing ... but then I am preaching to the converted here!
Its noticeable that superbike riders acknowledge(s?) your existance,
Mine is similar spec to the georgeous example shown by "Mashie" .yellow/gold with grey spider wheels, but with standard `99 headlamps, and a few more miles under its belt I should think. It hasn`t been cossetted, not a mint show car, but still amazing !!
