Sporadic oil pressure gauge

Hi all

Strange one this, just got my Cerb back from a AP twin plate clutch, Raceproved slave and new master cylinder and the car has been running superbly.

However, today, whilst cruising along at a steady 3000rpm the oil pressure (which normally sits at 50 PSI when cruising) was fluctuating between 40 and 60 PSI despite maintaining a constant speed and throttle position. The road was flat so no change in load.

Also, from cold the oil pressure used to leap up to 60-80 PSI, whereas now it starts at 40 or so then builds up and does the fluctuating thing. The oil level is fine and the car drives/pulls/starts/runs no different than before.

Any ideas? Should I be worried?

Could well be a broken oil pressure relief valve spring. Cheap and pretty easy to replace.

I replaced it about 2k miles ago but I'll order another as I also need a new diff mount bracket. Cheers!

Literally waiting for another to agree to take one. Nearly had someone a few weeks ago but they needed the car ASAP.
