Hi all

Stayed over at the father in laws last weekend and as there was a few of us we took our quilt along. Put it in the boot of the cerb and off we went.
We got very drunk so slept really well. Next night put our quilt back on our bed and all we could smell was fuel. Can't really tell if it smelt of unburnt or burnt fuel.
Has anyone else contaminated objects in a cerb boot? Or does my cerb have a problem?

Dave

PS Fuel consumption hasn't changed so I don't think I have a leak. 200-250 per tank.

Not sure if this helps but I think it might as the principle is the same. In my Griff 500 I once did exactly the same as you with bedding and it stank.

Anyhoo I was told it could be the rear light clusters not being sealed properly that allowed the fumes in (something about airflow at the back of the car when moving fast I think). Either that or the drainage holes? Either way I am almost certain it isn't unburnt fuel from a leak.

Rotten lot......

Dave...is it possible that the fuel cap wasn't on properly and if you had a FULL (Thank you Satman!!! )fuel tank...could some of it have splopped over.

It is possible to close the boot without putting the fuel cap on properly.

We know this can happen...

Sorry, bit off topic, but i've got to say this.

The reason yellow peril knows all about leaving the fuel filler off is that while we were in Southern Ireland Ray accidently left it off. This is not normally a big problem as the spring loaded inner seal saves most slopping, but the problem was highlighted in amazing fashion when we all went round a very sharp right-hand bend and the resulting petrol slop ran down the nearside channel, down the back of the car and ignited on the blowing exhaust, sending a plume of flame rearward toward Andy & Vannessas Tuscan. No damage done but sereiously imprssive

Oi......... Satman .....
Okay....so I meant a 'FULL' fuel tank....and I personally think that 'splopped' is a wonderfully descriptive word, whcih summed it up admirably.....

And if ANYONE has been on the vino around here....it is old snitch here........
