Well I had them fitted today. Went for 255-35-18 and 225-40-18
The fronts (40's from previous 35's) look less stretched but it does look tight under there. No rubbing so far.
the old tyres were in worse condition than I thought ie the legality was questionable!
First drive was scarey, second one less so!
The garage were asked to put them at 26 all round. When I got home they were at 28.5. The car was bouncing around all over the place, particularly at the front! Dropped them to 24 front and 25 rear and feels much better now.
The second drive then was much better but as the tryes are so new the grip isnt great and I managed to lose traction in 4th.
I pefer the tread pattern from the TIR's but I am hoping that these new ones will scrub in quick and I can start to test the grip.
