Hi guys,

Anyone have any idea as to the whereabouts of a pair of front tyres for a murci (245/35zr18 88y Pirelli p zero rosso)?

I've tried Micheldever, Blackboots, Elite in Rainham, Lambo dealers in London, Birmingham and Reading, Wycombe... and even Merit, Event, ATS and Kwik-fit. All say the tyres are on back order with no visibility on a fresh batch being produced by Pirelli.

Does anyone know if they will ever be produced again?

Should I be abandoning the search and looking to reshoe my car with (sic) Michelin Pilot Sports? According to Alan, the very helpful parts guy at Lambo Brum, the fitment of a set of these has been authorised by the Lamborghini factory in the absence of the correctly specc'ed tyre...

Thoughts appreciated!

Cheers
Graham

Had the same issue a few months ago. P Zeros don't seem to exist in that size and rating anywhere and I gave up waiting on the off chance that Pirelli were going to produce more. I ended up buying some Toyos. They seem fine!!

I inferred from the HR Owen website that there is visibility on stock across both London and Manchester. Is that not the case?

Maybe a daft suggestion but is it worth trying outside the UK. Italy perhaps? Could get them shipped over and fitted in UK I guess.

I think the 88Ys are long gone: I'd be very happy to source the Merc 92Ys but there aren't any of them either... unless someone knows different smile

I had a look on some of the French sites, Euromaster and Feu vert have pzeros in stock, but with 86y instead of the 88y. Might be worth browsing the German sites.

If you want I can ask our local specialist who races Porches.

Honestly guys for road use can you really tell or need the difference between the P zero and the michellins?

Track I understand but if it is track you must be burning through them quickly in which case why not create a group order and have quite a few sets I the garage awaiting your P&J.

Surely these will barely last 10k miles... Are you going to buy more than one set possibly 3/4 sets to give you a few years supply incase they dry up ? Plus to reduce the shipping cost Lee tyre or a nice trip out there to collect and max out your car mmm yea

I have a reasonably new set of p zero rosso rears, so don't particularly want to mix different manufacturers or tyre types between the axles. Of course, I may have to abandon the rossos altogether ...

There are plenty of places online listing p zero rossos, however when you call, they don't have them in stock. Or they have standard pzeros and try to sell you those. Or they assure you they have the rossos, and then the physical tyre, once delivered, turns out to be a standard pzero.

Is there some sort of general Problem with Pirelli supplies currently? I tried to replace the P6000's on my Volvo and was unable to source any. At best they said there was a month back order, at worst they were unable to locate any at all.

Right just got a reply from Pirelli.

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately we do not have any immediate availability on the product you have requested 245/35ZR18 88Y ROSSO and there are no confirmed production dates for the product.

So looks like no longer in production.

Have a few more tricks to try though so will make some further enquiries tomorrow and waiting on someone else to get back to me as well.

Cheers Tallbut,

Apparently they'll produce more when they have enough back orders.

In the meantime, the factory is suggesting standard Pzeros so I'm going to go for those. Will have to buy a set of four tho'.

Blackboots have one 88Y, however I need a pair... or one 92Y.
