Lamborghini Gallardo?
Discussion
Having owned 2 I dont think you can compare the Gallardo to any specific Audi/VAG group car except perhaps the R8. They share a fair bit of VAG group parts (centre console controls, engine parts etc) but dont know if many parts shared with Murci or Aventador. The air vent covers are the same on Gallardo and Murci but I guess as Aventador is new it probably shares less.
I went from the r8 into the gallardo and they are nothing alike so would it matter anyway ? The lambo feels very special ,the r8 didn't...as much as I loved it because they are utterly brilliant cars,only lacking that Charisma the lambo has.(and its beauty).
I do believe the v10 engine is the lambo unit detuned mildly ,and obviously the lambo utilises much audi switchgear,the sat nav system,aircon etc ,the brakes on the pre lp560s are audi brakes as well I believe.

the baby lambo is the gallardo and was a project resurrected by the VAG group... a baby lambo has been in the lambo portfolio since the jalpa.... to increase lambo profitability and viability, not VAGs.... the V10 is 'based' on the audi v8 block, in so much the V angle, but the rest is all lamborghini..... the V10 was then detuned for the ?s6, s8, and r8... might bits of the aventador be detuned for future audi;s.. maybe.... sharing comestic fittings and ICE does not make a gallardo an audi..... if anything, i would say audi benefits more from lamborghini....I think it's it's fair to say it's a bit less Lamborghini than the Murcielago/Aventador. The Avantador gets built at the factory, albeit painted off-site. Gallardo body parts, for example, are made by Audi and shipped in. I've got a feeling the seats come in complete too, whereas they pad and trim the Avantador ones. Clearly I'm not suggesting this makes the Gallardo an Audi.

Gallardo = Lamborghini.
R8 = Fake Lamborghini.
That is all.
My god what a load of nonsense? Have you owned either?R8 = Fake Lamborghini.
That is all.
I had a Gallardo for 3 weeks and then sold it at a masive loss as it had crap steering, ridiculous turning circle, poor legroom, badly offset pedals and everyone apart from 6 year old boys hated you on the street. The R8 V10 on the other hand feels 1000 x better built, better steering, far better interior, nicer sound, better suspension. Looks just as sensational - more curvey, bit more grown up. 50 grand less. What not to like.
That is all

Just a question not a statement guys.
Is the G a true Lamborghini or is it a modified Audi that brings in revenue for the VAG?
Also what parts are shared from Murcielago/Aventador on other VAG cars (engine/gearbox etc)
I know you sometimes read reviews by journalists saying the Gallardo is not a "real Lamborghini" but to be honest that's utter nonsense. If you actually look out for it they say that about a lot of different cars i.e. this isn't a real Ferrari because it isn't red or "only has a flappy paddle box" etc Is the G a true Lamborghini or is it a modified Audi that brings in revenue for the VAG?
Also what parts are shared from Murcielago/Aventador on other VAG cars (engine/gearbox etc)
The Gallardo has an Audi key and many bits of switch gear, however as already said Ferrari used to use Fiat keys, Aston used Ford keys. Maserati use Peugeot switchgear, most small brands do because it makes sense really. Why spend $40 Million designing a door handle when you can use an already available on?

I owned a 2007 G with all the toys (cost £151k)kept it for two years and liked it until i jumped in mates RS4 and an Audi cab and was quite shocked that the inside was similar to the G,ie steering wheel,seats,sat nav etc.Saying all that the sound of the engine/exhaust was mind blowing and had stunning looks.Also i was led to believe that the signature tradmark for a Lamborghini is a V12 and thats why Lamborghini have kept to the V12 in the Aventador.The Gallardo has an Audi key and many bits of switch gear, however as already said Ferrari used to use Fiat keys, Aston used Ford keys. 4WD, heavy and brutish to drive, and bugger all steering feel ..... So yeah, an Audi. Is the G a true Lamborghini or is it a modified Audi that brings in revenue for the VAG?
