Just dreaming today browsing the Ferrari market, went on eBay just now and
came across this:

FINANCE REPOSSESSION 2007 FERRARI 599 GTB FIORANO F1 UNRECORDED 9,700 MILES
Wrapped in white (original is Nero I believe)

With a starting price of £50,000 its now £80,000 with 11 bids and three days to go.
Must hurt for who ever owned it before but who ever wins how much you think it would go for
would this be a bargain buy.....

Would you trust buying a repossessed Ferrari?

FERANO.

Isn't this the one that allegedly went swimming and had a long thread a few months ago ?

Interesting that it has now been serviced....wonder what codes were on the print-out

You can get a clean car for under £100k so I would not touch it with a bargepole.

I would have serious issues buying an £80k car from a seller who was incapable of correct basic spelling and grammar.

The heading of the 599 Auction does state:

FERRARI 599 GTB FIORANO F1
UNRECORDED HPI CLEAR

I guess it could be a straight forward repossession..

This car was sold through BlueCycle as a repossesed, flood damaged car. It specifically stated the car had a gearbox fault.

Smart money would stay WELL away from this car. Most of the electronics, including some ECU's are UNDER the carpets and seats on a 599, and water and electronics do not mix, with concequences sometimes not showing their faces right away, but with the delayed nature of corrosion, you could see some big bills, even a while after it has been dried out.

As already said I wouldn't walk away I would run! It sold a couple weeks ago on ebay so I'm guessing the sale fell through. The cheapest cars are currently about £100k but considering some of them have been up for a while I bet you could get one for £95k no problem. So why would someone buy a car that may have major issues in the future, is wrapped and therefore we don't know what the paintwork is like underneath and isn't actually that much cheaper!

If the car was £70k I would maybe understand the risk but at that money (and the money it sold for last time it was up on ebay) I think you'd need to be on drugs!

ETA here is the link from the last time it was up for sale: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FINANCE-REPOSSESSION-200...

It's written to appear to be a 'straight forward' repossession, but if it has been flood damaged does it not need to state it in the ad?

Thats what i thought, sounds dodgey to me. Most ph heads seem to know/heard whats happend to the car(s) and where theyve have been. If its true about the water damage who ever wins the bid needs to aviod.

Blimey....what's that, £4+ per mile depreciation?! Would love to be in a situation where that was an acceptable cost of car ownership!

"they forgot to mention it had been driven into a lake by the previous owners teenage spoilt bratt!!"

Well they have forgot to mention that again in this sale. They are sick for letting it go for a such high price and no solid history who do they think they are?? nono
