Anyone have a recommendation for a MOT tester in London as my Superleggera needs its MOT renewing.

Not in London, but we use Ural Motors at West Kingsdown on the A20 near Brands Hatch. Both the Gallardo and now our espada because they have the low level ramp that will not cause damage and they really know their stuff. Neil is the boss, they do bikes as well. Good luck

I'm in central London, near London bridge, so Bexley isn't too far.

What's the problem with a ramp? Ours is flat to drive on, the biggest problem is the rollers although we just cover them if the car is too low.

Wembley MOT centre in, er, Wembley. They've done my Maserati twice and are very careful. They also offer advice on anything they find, even if not MOT-relevant. THey'are also car and bike nuts, not just bored testers.

if you drive across the rotherhithe tunnel, then through the limehouse link, then back across the blackwall tunnel onto the a2, would be a great drive too!!!

ps. would be my recommended route... used to hate driving through new cross/lewisham/balckheath.. too many lights...

Use your local council one as they have no agenda and dont work on cars at all so ar the most accurate and honest you will get. I have one in hounslow and i wouldnt take my cars anywhere else.

Limehouse still has 3 Gatsos plus another one as it by the Cotton St flyover. Blackwall has average speed north and alleged average speed south although I've never seen the sb ones and never been done in either direction at speeds up to 50mph.

hehe

seen the nb ones on blackwall and wandered too if they are 'on' .... as the exit ones are after the a13 exit i think..... though never brave enough to risk it.. always wandered if they are turned on when both lanes of traffic use the one tunnel.....

one on entry, 30mph, slow entry, drop two cogs, floor it.
brake for camera in middle, floor again once past, and final repeat at exit camera !!!

Northbound there's two sets, one is supposedly set for the 20mph limit when it uses the SB tunnel then there's another set just after the arch with the other end ones on the slip road at the exit and just by the lights after the A13 flyover.

FastFit in Stockwell, just by the war memorial. They always do all my cars and have done for the best part of 20 years. Ask to speak to Paul or Robert - they're excellent.

Lamborghini London / HR Owen use Spiros, round the corner from their workshop in School Road.

http://www.spirosmotors.co.uk/index.php/cms/mot

They are nice people, and their testers seem to be well used to driving exotica on and off their ramp.

It's quite an exhilarating experience though: the MoT waiting parking bay on Sunbeam Road has a big lump of concrete poking out into it and, once you've negotiated that, huge trucks thunder up and down the road a few millimetres from your wing mirror.

I doubt the lambo will get past the bollards on the tunnel entry on the south side, also not a lot of space in the tunnel itself if you have some plonker coming the other way.
