I met up with an old pal of mine the other day who was telling me about his plans now that he's leaving the REME.

He got to telling me about a place out Norfolk way that's restoring Miura's and has just finished a baby blue car (not sure of the actual lambo colour) for its owner. The reg being something like 64E. Anybody know of this place as it sounds old school fantastic? Off the beaten track with no advertising just turning out amazing work by all accounts.

I once picked up a car from a workshop years ago out in norfolk in the middle of nowhere ... was an old disused ww2 airbase...the workshops were in the old hangers... nothing special from the outside, but the hangers were full of very high end nut and bolt restored cars, I remember a Ferrari and an Aston DB6 which was probably nicer than the day it left the Aston factory originally.....
havent a clue where the place was now or their name.

Here's a couple of images of the restored Miura that my mate was talking about, 15F as it turns out not 64E. laugh

It's a gorgeous colour.

I wonder if he could do anything with the burnt out one... frown

What a car. Stunning.

I can't help but think they wont appreciate the publicity though! Probably quite happy being known only by the ones who should know smile

Why the big secret ? is it a business or a registered charity ...

The Miura is just stunning in profile. Do remind your friend to secure the clams, especially the rear, before driving off. Many a rear section has been ripped off because they forgot to secure the latches.

I can't name and shame but a few years ago I had an Italian classic 'restored' in deepest Norfolk (East Harling?) and their workshop practices where truly awful (NOT Omicron).

That Muira is the same colour as the one BHP Motorsport had collecting dust at their place a couple of years back (it was just a rolling chassis then)

It was taken from there ( I remember seeing it on a flatbed on its way somewhere else )

Does anyone know what happened to the Muira that was at BHP ?

No big secret really but some shops like to keep themselves to themselves.

I'm sorry to read that, if it is the same place as the one that's turned out the Miura then I can only react with some surprise as my understanding is that they/he run(s) a pretty good operation. I am though only going off what my friend has told me about them which isn't that much. Hence my original question.

I didn't know that the company from whom I bought my car and commisioned
its restoration was going to sub-contract it out to these people in Norfolk and at that time I knew nothing about classic cars at all.
I was going in that direction and popped in to the workshop with a friend who
was a skilled ali 'metal basher' who pointed out to me all the sloppy practices.

When finished, my car did have a great looking paint job but some panels were poorly dressed and it wasn't long before lines started to appear in a couple of places on the bodywork where as it turns out, repair panels had been welded in incorrectly, and not too much more time passed before rust started to appear in other places. I hope the Miura is not in the same workshop, as although my car was done a long time ago, I note that the same person is still in charge and I hear that the company who I bought my car from no longer use them because ........

I can confirm it was the one stored in BHP for a short while.
