F12 market and deals

As a matter of interest why would you expect a discount or special deal on a car which has a waiting list? I guess the best you could expect is they offer to bump you up the queue but don't hold your breath!

Be interested to figure out how many qualify : since deliveries have only just begun there must be fewer than half a year's allocation in build or built - maybe 30 cars - I wonder how many are on PH - maybe 2 or 3 - and why a dealer should give a discount to one of them let alone some-one apparently without a previous relationship I'm not sureAppreciate that you want to hear from people who have been through the process, but the F12 is no different to any other new Ferrari with a waiting list, and some of the people above speak with previous experience.
No chance of a discount, but happy to leave the thread for someone who has spec'd an F12 to say the same

In the F12 market the opportunity is all with the dealer. Be under no illusion, if you won't pay full price for an F12 slot, somebody else will. Now, an FF on the other hand- that's one worth a haggle...To be honest with you, the market for the F12 is relatively small & the allocation even smaller at the moment.
A few of the guys who answered your question earlier have first hand knowledge of Ferrari & their sales techniques.
You have zero chance of discount at this time - no doubt in the future you may be able to sort something out.
That being said - I have not ordered one so feel free to disregard this post...

I am not sure how relevant this is to this discussion but in the months Octane magazine Harry Metcalf has some interesting facts on new car sales in Europe.
The bottom line is that things are looking very grim. According Stephan Winkelmann while the market for supercars in Europe in 2007/08 was 2000 cars, in 2012 that number had dropped to 400
Porsche sales have tumbled by 36% in the first three months of 2013 compared to 2012 and Ferrari are sales are down similarly.
The only positive point of the horizon is the UK market which is actually growing on the back of business and fleet sales which account for 48% of all new cars sold here.
So if you take some of the figures above and flutter them under the nose of your dealer you may be able to fool him into thinking you are doing the Fiat group a favour buy buying a Ferrari and as such a discount would not be unreasonable

I happen to know a low spec car changed hands privately for a premium of less than £10k last week...ask any trader to find a buyer for a car listing at 270k or thereabouts quickly and quietly (no advertising) and if they're honest they'll tell you it's a big ask...
I agree for the moment that demand will outstrip supply, and by all accounts the F12 is a game changer.A very close friend who has driven absolutely everything and is a genuinely useful driver by any standard I hold dear had an extended test drive and was utterly blown away...
Having said that it's also a totally new price benchmark for a non limited production Ferrari, albeit a very special one,and as rare as they are currently ultimately Ferrari will churn out plenty to a willing customer base (I say this with no proof/evidence,just an intuitive assumption). As such I think they'll trade below list within the year and the OP will get his discount then.Just my opinion of course.

I think a discount on the F12 would be very hard to come by.
However if you phone around the dealer network you may well find one or two that have landed at the dealer & for whatever reason their client no longer wants the car.
Obviously it may not be to the spec that you'd order but you will beat the waiting list!..I know of one in white.

I drove an F12 on Saturday courtesy of Ferrari Manchester (Wilmslow) - great bit of kit and so easy to drive, fast or slow! Limiting supply will no doubt reinforce the residuals for a while yet so why would or should any dealer offer discount? Once dealers start discounting, it will be like AM, burning the early owners with savage depreciation. It's a hell of jump both in price and technology over the 599.
