Hi everyone,

I am a week old Ferrari F355 owner and am looking for a Capristo Stage 3 exhaust for it. Can someone advise me on where I can get one and get it fitted? I am based in the South East near Tunbridge Wells.

Great Forum and thanks for any comments and advice.

Speak to roger at the Ferrari Center in Maidstone, if you are lucky he may have a secondhand one in stock.
Please mention my name as he may knock a tenner off my next service :-)

Dont put a level 3 on a spider.

They all sound the same once the bypass valve opens - it will just do your head in when you are in traffic with roof down.

You could also try Foskers at Brands Hatch. They look after my 355 and could be help being fairly local for you.

And another. I had a level 2 on my 355 spider and it set of the alarms of cars parked next to me in the car park when I started it. Admittedly it was decatted so maybe a bit louder than normal, which is another option you could explore if a level 2 wasn't quite enough.

Level 1 decat. Taking the cats out makes the difference. Even a tubi sounds amazing decatted, although to most people not as good as a capristo. Apparently capristo's are extremely expensive , even second hand.

Does altering the exhaust system make the car less desirable when selling it compared to a car that is factory standard?

As long as it is a capristo or tubi I would say it makes it a little more desirable.

Apparently nick cartright does a stainless system that sounds the same as a tubi but around a bag of sand brand new.

Keeping the Cats on it seems the general trend is to go for a Cap stage 3. I only use my 355 for weekend blasts when the sun is out so im not worried about it being too loud when pottering through town!

In my experience I would say it adds maybe £1k to the asking price but only for a private sale, but keep the original, that way if the next buyer wants the standard exhaust, you can still sell the capristo afterwards separately. They're £2.7k new and fitted (or at least mine was) from memory, so you could get good money selling it afterwards.

ETA: but I would say this only applies to a level 1 or 2. Level 3 is going to be very niche I think, you'd prob struggle to get money back on it if selling it with the car.

They are all level 3 when in open mode, so buy a level 1 or 2 and put an on off switch in cabin, you can then choose to have open all the time or leave in auto mode.

Yeah, dont rule out the Tubi option. I managed to pick up my Tubi for £400 second hand from someone, then added decats! Here's a couple of videos someone took of my car at Donnington and Reims (Check out the flames too at 0:39 seconds!)

Donnington:

Reims:

For me the Tubi is the better option as it sounds a bit beefier. The Capristo sounds too manufactured and a bit thin. But thats just my opinion.

I had a level 3 on my tin top, with decats.
It was an amazing sounding car, but the low speed stuff especially round town was painfully loud.
I love a loud car, but that just couldnt be driven quiet and did my head in eventually.

Level 1 decatted is absolutely perfect and mad noisy when the valve opens.

On a side note, I had a Tubi on mine for 1 week, then heard the Capristo. I ordered the Cappy that day.
Tubi sounds good, but that Capristo system is the absolute pinnacle for that car.
