Transformers: robots in disguise?
Discussion
Saw Transformers: Age Of Extinction yesterday, had to chuckle at the blatant product placement throughout. I'm guessing high-end car manufacturers must've been queuing up to get their merchandise into the film, even though it makes a mockery of the notion of 'robots in disguise...hidden in plain sight'. Quite apart from Optimus Prime turning into a huge blue and red truck, I also spotted quite a convoy of exotica:
- Bumblebee (1967 and 2014 Camaro)
- Drift (Bugatti Veyron)
- Crosshairs (Chevrolet Corvette)
- Stinger (Pagani Huarya)
- Lockdown (Lamborghini Aventador)
In some background shots, many Aston Martins and at least one Ferrari 458 Italia can also be seen. Did I miss any?!

Quite a bit of negotiation was needed for the first Transformers move.
Bumblebee was originally a VW beetle, however Disney & VW wanted to protect the Herbie brand. ( Herbie being a VW beetle ).
Old Camaro Bumblebee hitting the Beetle in the parking lot was a nod to that decision.
Not all car manufacturers were queuing up.
