Hesitation under acceleraration on a 2014 Maserati Ghibli

Hi all. Not sure if this is the right sub-forum but hopefully someone can help.

A good mate has a 2014 Maserati Ghibli. More frequently, he is experiencing a situation where he will apply the accelerator and nothing happens for a few seconds, then all power is delivered at once (his description).

It is intermittent and does not happen all the time but it happening more frequently.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this?

Quite possibly a software update if your friend speaks to his local dealer........

If it's from a standing start then it could be the turbo lag. I've driven the S petrol engine in a QP and it had very rapid mid range but was slow to spool up from a standing start. If it's the diesel then can't help I am afraid.

Thanks all. It is intermittent, at both acceleration and from start. He's had turbo cars before and is convinced it is not the lag. It's the petrol one too.

He has booked in for a software update. I will post the outcome.
