Purchased by Talacrest I am informed. I can imagine one or two collectors willing to buy a number of these cars, but sadly many will possibly need restoration work if they are to be driven. Many will be exported and again for investment purposes. We could see CGT on classic cars in 2017 or 18 which would scare some people silly.
yes - John Collins is Talacrest

great deal at 20m
love the 722 SLR
shame that he never drove them, pretty pointless really.
Not really pointless. I expect he was a collector and businessman. He would have no doubt made millions out of the collection himself. love the 722 SLR

A 288 GTO, for example, was changing hands for less than £500,000 four/five years ago but is probably worth getting on for £1.5 - £2m now.
The F50 is now a £1m car, more than doubling over the last few years.
My father sold a business in 1984. I told him to invest £75k in a 288. He bought a boat. The year later Corrado Cupolini pitched up in a 275 4 cam wanting £35k for it. The old man pulled the boat out of the water for anti-fouling. I gave up after that....
I'd like to know what the Periscopa is worth. I did ping Talacrest but didn't receive a reply...

this was the first Lamborghini sold for over $1m so it must be not far off that and looks amazing in yellow

How much is a decent 959 worth nowadays?
would be interesting to know if the Aston one-77 is worth more than the price new

Talacrest are as sharp as many other 'specialists'. They over charge on some of their sales, but if the market will support it they will sell up. Supply and demand. To me.....why own these if you are not going to drive them.....and if you are building a collection today I would want a couple of 'real classics' and 5-8 hard driven supercars which would put a smile upon my face each and every day, be it at Ascari, the Ring or Spa / Silverstone.
So anyone want to attempt a rough tot up of values on the 27 cars?

I believe that all of the cars in this collection are in top condition and I'm not aware of any non runners, so I would think that Talacrest have made a very shrewd purchase.
Would still like some expert on PH to assess the likely value of each car.

£20 million seems somewhat conservative when you look at the list, but if they are non runners this would lower prices. 300 SL price are huge today...722 SLR's are not cheap and the Ferrari's especially the 288 GTO and F50 will both go for large amounts.
