Anyone got pictures of the glass engine cover on a Huracan? Just about to order a replacement for mine and having seen pictures of Lambo's own take on carbon fibre which edges the glass, I'm not so sure! Their carbon seems to look like stressed plastic on the pictures I've seen and not the usual tidy weave. I'm wondering If I should get the standard plastic cover carbon dipped I think it could look great and perhaps a little like the new GT3 car.

Cheers

Steve

I don't like the space carbon either, normal would be much nicer, I even prefer Matt plastic to it, but if you use the code for the style pack version of the glass bonnet it comes with the edges in gloss black.

Sorry no offense intended but I can't see why anyone would take any Lamborghini part and do something as cheap and tacky as 'carbon' dipping. Lamborghini have always been at the forefront of carbon fibre technology and their work is flawless.

It might well be be technically good but it looks crap and a cheap tacky might look a sight better. I'm not adverse to spending the money but I am if the car looks worse for it. Have a look at the Carbon it looks like flawed plastic.
When I first saw their efforts with carbon on a rear engine cover in carbon I asked the dealer how much more it would cost in carbon and not plastic only to be told that is was carbon! Emperors clothes!

Fact is they should have released the huracan with a carbon slatted engine cover in the first place. If you can't get one, dipping is only alternative.

This is what their carbon looks like, if it were standard weave I wouldn't have thought twice.

Thats the stuff they developed with Boing - to be lighter and cheaper to produce. I'm not convinced by it at all....

However, the word is that the glass cover on the Hurracan reflects the engine badly - so you don't get a clear view....I'm sure that the reason for the delay.....

The covers are readily available, I just don't think they look great. If I order one it'll be with plastic edges and look better also saving 3k in the process.

How did they manage to make such horrid looking carbon?

I've just spent all day "running-in" a new Hurican. It's the second one that I've driven. The first, a very early car, had the louvred tailgate. I don't remember thinking that the rear view was a problem. But, over 250 miles today, every time I glanced in the rear view mirror I was appalled at the terrible view afforded by the factory glass tailgate. I would strongly urge anyone thinking of ordering it, not to!

Having said that, the louvred glass tailgate, pictured above, looks the business and probably gives better rearward vision than either of the Lambo offerings.

Ps: I'm not sure if I'm at liberty to thank by name the two guys who trusted me with their expensive ward for the day. You know who you are. Thank you. Great day out! driving

Having to wait 6 months since I placed my order for a new Huracan it arrived last week, I wanted a factory fitted rear glass engine bay screen . Production only started for uk cars from February , so delivery in March for new plate reg.
I test drove the car with the louvred rear screen and visibility was not good and I think it just makes the car look heavy around the top rear.
Now I have the car I would say from the out side looks very smart and all detail of the glass and part louvred vents blend well together , I also went for the gloss black exterior . The visibility is better looking through the rear view mirror but you only see the top half of the car traveling behind you, this is because of the black out on the lower part of the glass screen being blacked out because of the reflection of the engine. the design not quite right 5/10 but 10/10 for seeing the V10 engine and appearance outside, but the panel is beautifully made.
The Carbon fibre !! Very disappointed with finish sounds like and looks like plastic which has water damage stains markes all over it. But we must move on with modern Technology and looks ok but would rather see lovely woven carbon fibre thou.
I am very please with the car my first Lamborghini and I think I have made the right choice after looking at McLaren and Ferrari, A lot of people are saying it's not a real raw Lamborghini but I wanted a car that gives me a a good comfortable ride and easy to drive along normal roads and some thing that brings a big smile across your face when you press that button on the steering wheel and that right pedal. I have owed over 90 cars in my driving time and this one really attracts the looks.
