Track Day Questions

I already do a lot of track days with my track prepared TVR but I now have a McLaren 650S -
Two questions -
1) Why is it that the events I have attended (mostly javelin + MSV) rarely have super cars? I see lots of track exotica eg. GT3's, Crossbows, Atoms, Ultima's (did see a 458 at most recent Snetterton) - and I do only ever go to weekday events (weekend events I have found attract too many idiots) - and also only try to go to events that accept non-road card as you again get serious drivers. So other than what I know McLaren arrange - where do people take their cars?
2) What insurance have you used? My TVR has been easy to cover - I insured using Pace ward for road going - but any tips on what I should expect / ask for?
