Hi All,

Tried to do a search on topics on this car before but could not find much on google.
What are peoples thoughts on the car. I am specifically only looking at the spyder V10.

What are peoples views ont he values, if they will stay the same or go down a little. I am looking to buy one in around 8-12 months. Would like to ideally get one around 60k. At the moment they seem to hoover around 65-70k.

If you buy one, id recommend you get the S Tronic over the R Tronic box.

I wouldn't really bet on the residuals on the R8 over other marques, yes they are strong but you wont cash in like the 355/360 owners 10 years ago..

Hi Juber thanks for the reply.
I have seen only a couple of discussions regarding the R tronic and S tronic. I know there is a noticable difference between them but I think at the price point I would like to buy at I would be looking at the R tronic. I think the S tronic came after another couple of years?

To be honest I am certainly not bothered about it going up in value, really just looking for it not to loose a load. More curious if they are likely to suffer another drop down to 60k or stay around at the price point they are at.

If they went lower than 60k even better. but I would rather buy the best one I can for 60k

they won't go below £60k

I bought one for £65k 3 years ago with 30k on the clock ... 3 years later, they are the same price.

buy the best you can get for £6Xk

drive the tits off it, enjoy it, then sell it

get a manual BTW - the R-Tronic is pooh

agreed with that i was looking for a v10 2 years ago (bought a 430 in the end), had a look the other day out of curiosity and they seem to be the same price still even v8s which means relatively they've gone up in value if a 2 year older car is the same price! well in my mind anyway lol

Tuvra, I made that same mistake when the R8 v8 hit 40k. I thought yes they will be 35k soon. bloody 18 months later the same spec. millages are 45-50k!

I really dont think the v10 sypder will drop below 60k for a reasonable millage nice example.
I just dont see it for the spyder. maybe for a coupe but not by much

they won't go below £60k for another 2 years at least.

remember the Spyder only came out on a 2010, so only 6 years old.

The new R8 Spyder doesn't land until later this year and its gonna take at least 3-5 years from that point for them to get anywhere near £60k

Find another car for £60k with a mid engine'd 525PS N/A V10, hand build, aluminium super car with a manual gearbox and german reliability and servicing....I'll save you the hassle, there aint one

buy the best you can get for £6Xk

drive the tits off it, then sell once done ... It will cost you no more than £5k a year in depreciation WORST CASE - likely just £100-£200 a month
