insurance cover for a car rally event road trip

Hi fellow piston headers

I'm soon going in a euro car rally event and it looks as though my indurance provider doesn't want to provide cover all because it is termed a rally event with lots of cars participating. ..

Seems over the top but not a total Surprise that they would take this view.

Given plenty of folk here have done gumball and cannonball and modball etc can anyone point me in the direction of an insurer for 10 day cover ?

one of my heavily modified cars is covered as a road-rally car with Competition cars. it's pretty much a standard fully comp policy, expect during 'timed' stages when it's 3rd party. Not sure if they do part-time policys but worth giving them a call.

I'm still drawing a blank! I can't believe it is this difficult to find an insurer to cover 10 or 14 days roadtest rally event ?

Any other pointers welcome ?

Yes, that's correct - I believe they are underwritten by Aviva but with their own customised products. they are a sister company to Footman James.
