European Breakdown Cover
Discussion
Did a search but nothing came up so....
I'm planning a 4k mile, 3 week road trip around Europe early next summer in the 360, one of the items on my list to sort out is decent breakdown cover...
Given that the car is 16 years old next year, many of the usual suspects won't cover.
Does anyone have recommendations who to use / avoid
Any real life experiences would be appreciated also.

Ferrari do a FREE breakdown cover for every single car they produce no matter how old it is ,
I have cover on my 430, renew every year for free, covers all Europe.
customerservice@owners.ferrari.com
It’s called “Ferrari with you”
They need to see a copy of your log book and you need to fill a form out which they will send you.
Hope this helps

Will drop that address an email now to find out the details.
Anyone ever used that service, experiences?
I used this company last year
https://www.eta.co.uk/breakdown/single-trip-europe...
I would also check who you are insured with, many insurance companies now supply european breakdown cover with the policy, so you may be covered?
Have a great trip

I've had the free Ferrari Assistance cover on my 599 ever since it was not under warranty. Never had to use it but I am sure it would be fine. The ladies in Italy who administer this are incredibly efficient, answering emails very fast and, once you have faxed or emailed them the documentation they require, the policy paperwork arrives very quickly. Just remember that you have to renew it, free of charge, each year. Oh, and in case it wasn't clear, it provides breakdown cover in the UK as well.

Thanks for this, just checked their Ts and Cs and the 360 is too wide for them to cover apparently!https://www.eta.co.uk/breakdown/single-trip-europe...

Well I just checked the width of my car and it is also 1.92! The same as a 360, they accepted my car last year!
Glad i did not have call them out!
It says they cover up to 1.91 wide
One of those things that logic says should be fine.... however, knowing how companies love to use any clause possible to wriggle out of paying for things, I don't think I'd want to rely on them!Glad i did not have call them out!

Shame, because their 20 year age limit is better than most mainstream breakdown cover (often 15 years max)
On with the search whilst I wait to hear back from Ferrari directly.
Arrival policy from the RAC is meant for motorhomes, but doesn't have any length / width restrictions
When I broke down last year in the 5ton motorhome they put us up in a hotel / hire car to get us back to the UK and sent a 44ton truck & low loader trailer empty from Aylesbury to the Alps and delivered the motorhome back to the UK and a garage of my choice
The driver even phoned me to say when he was in Calais and when he expected to reach me
(what he didn't realise was that i was tracking him on my phone anyway)
Its not cheap, but you cant fault the service

I suspect if you use the Ferrari cover if you breakdown ,say for example with a gearbox malfunction, you will be recovered to a Ferrari main dealer where they will happily fit a new gearbox and charge you for it!
A few weeks ago I had a gearbox issue with my R35 GTR in Croatia, we were covered by the AA Euro Recovery. They offered to fly us home but we jumped in a friends car that was on the trip and continued our journey. The AA arranged a hire car for us when we got back to the UK and the car arrived at my preferred workshop in the UK a couple of weeks later. The cost of the cover was £83 for the duration of the trip, I would have no hesitation in recommending them, the car was looked after very well, no scratches etc on its long journey back from Croatia.

I've got the application form for the Ferrari cover and as it's free I shall do it anyway, but armed with the name of the scheme, I fired up my Google Foo and it revealed that, much as you suggest, the recovery is only free to the nearest dealer and only then if they do the repair.... otherwise there's a charge.A few weeks ago I had a gearbox issue with my R35 GTR in Croatia, we were covered by the AA Euro Recovery. Good to know about the AA cover, I'll check it out. Cheers
In the summer I used the Ferrari "with you" as a parachute option as it was free and the Euro cover provided with my Hiscox policy.
The problem with most of them is they will attempt to repair your car locally and if that fails they will transport it to a place of your choosing, which ordinarily will be home. Fine on your way back but a bit of a bummer if you're on your way out......
I also expect it isn't the vision of a flatbed with your car being delivered door to door wrapped in cotton wool. More likely shipped to a transport company who will consolidate onto a big transporter and bring them back ten at a time.
