Hi guys,

488 has PPF most areas you'd want it except for bonnet. Never really understood why it wasn't installed their but suspect it was a bit tatty and Ferrari decided to remove it prior to sale.

Anyway due to the lovely Lincolnshire roads me bonnet has road rash on the bonnet.

Ultimately I want to get the bonnet reaprayed and some ppf thrown on for good measure.

Any recommendations for a company who can do both or if not separate recommendations are fine.

http://www.paintshield.co.uk

These are located a little further south in Peterborough for PPF but no personal experience with the company.

Makes you wonder if it's best to get road rash and spray up afterwards - almost the same price !

+1.

Wraps and films peel at the edges, look cheap up-close, and can damage the paintwork underneath if caught by the cutting tools, bonded too strongly, or removed too aggressively.

Rubbish.
PPF done correctly is non of the above; The latest SunTek and Xpel films are a very high quality, most people wouldn't tell the difference until it's pointed out and even then some struggle.

A well designed kit wraps around most edges so no lifting and should not require any sharps to come near the car, it won't lift paint unless there's an underlying poor repair.
Not that there is any need to be aggressive as it removes easily with heat applied, but you can pretty much hang off it and it will have no detriment to the paintwork.

I've worked with the stuff as a supplier and end user for almost 10 years now, it's not what it was 6-7+ years ago and it's nothing like vinyl wrap.

http://www.reepmidlands.com Reep Midlands, ask for Pete George, did my F355, fantastic job, cant tell it is fitted, unless you up close and looking for it, also did a ceramic glaze on the rest of the car, money well spent. Modern film and ceramic coatings are so improved on 10 years ago.

PW Pro at Mansfield are very good with paint protection films. I recently had my 458 done there. Give Paul a ring at PW as I'm sure they use a local bodyshop they can recommend. He also had a 488 in when my 458 was done.
