Ferrari 360 help please
Discussion
Hello all, I was driving the 360 , accelerating actually when suddenly wham! ASR light on, speedo drops completely, no power, luckily near home so limped about one mile, I have the right hand bank not working and the throttle body constantly clicking, I tried the reset, the battery is absolutely fully charged, any advice greatly appreciated, regards Mike Brown
Thankyou three sixty, I don’t have the confidence to swap electronic components around, the cars gone mad now, sidelights on all the time, clicking throttle, I absolutely detest all these modern electronics. I’ve isolated the power and will get it taken to Ed at Christian Lewis, regards Mike

I'd check the earth strap from the battery isolator to the chassis and then the battery before doing anything else Mike.......The battery might give a decent voltage but fail under current draw.
Good advice. A failing battery can do all sorts of strange things to the electrics on these cars.I don’t think it’s the battery as it turns over very well , so the amperage must be good, having said that the battery was fitted by Ferrari about six years ago as I have the invoice for it with the service history, it just seems strange how it was running so well, when suddenly something broke. I am at a loss , why would the side lights stay on? That is until I turn the isolated to off, they are not on on the switch I’ve checked that, any advice greatly appreciated, Mike

Change the battery. These car's are extremely sensitive to battery condition (even though the car may turnover and start ok) I had this type of fault (allbeit on a different car) just recently. Battery had gone flat, recharged it and the car started absolutely fine. Upon driving it, the dash lit up with all sorts of warning lamps and a mis-fire was present - but only at idle? Plenty of head scratching later and also after i downloaded the fault codes which just said mis-fire on all cylinders! I changed the battery as a precaution (it was 7 years old) - hey presto - all faults curedIf the battery is 6 years old - it's due a change. Change this, let the system re-learn and then go from there

Thank you very , I will replace the battery anyway, it’s no bad thing to have a new one, I will check the lights, it’s really strange the car started well warmed up and drove for about one mile when suddenly the Rev counter went to zero and the ASR light came on , then it just wouldn’t rev past about 1200, and coupled with that the right hand throttle body is clicking away and those four cylinders are not firing.
You know it’s like Christmas tree lights, you put them away fine, then when you get them out some don’t work, I’m just really annoyed that of the few times I do drive the car it blooming well breaks, thanks all Mike

Remove the access panel in the scuttle and follow the main earth from the back of the battery isolator to where it bolts to the chassis. Clean both ends and smear a bit if silicon grease on the connections and tighten.
On mine I strapped across the two adjacent connectors on the advice of my tech.I used to get an ASR warning on cranking. Since I did this nothing. Has to be worth a try and costs nothing.
