do you think my front plate will be ok for tolls in spain, france & italy?

I also have a hardwired police car warning device in the car. Target Blue. I know the French don't like radar detectors but do you think I will be OK with this?

Thanks in advance

Radar detectors in France are illegal, if caught you will be in trouble and the plate is unfortunately inviting a tug.
Personally I'd get rid of the detector or disable it and use Waze or Coyote instead

If your plate is legal in the UK then it should be legal in any other European country (until at least next March). If it's not legal here, then it's illegal in Europe. As far as I'm aware tolls in Europe don't use ANPR, they're either cash/card or a box attached to the windscreen (pay on account)

This.

The French have had a complete sense of humour failure about radar detectors - you need to remove or disable it. Including removing any dash mounted equipment.

Its slightly different in that its a police car detector and not a laser detector.

Front plate isn't legal so could give Le Plod a reason to pull you over, the device you had fitted according to their site is legal and works in Italy and Spain but not France and although it isn't a radar detector again Le Plod might have a sense of humour failure and delay you while they figure out what it is.

Personally I'd fit a legal plate and not worry too much about the Target Blu device.

I asked the manufacturer of and they said:

Blu Eye is legal in the 3 countries your customer mentions. However, Blu Eye does not work in France, partially in Spain (only in the Bask area and Catalunya) and we still have limited information about Italy.

Good luck arguing that point with the Gendarmes. smile

I would try to remove any dashboard fittings for it - even though it doesn't work in France.
