3200 tow bar help
Discussion
A strange request, but I am looking at possibly buying a 3200. However as we only need one car now it also has to be able to tow our sailing dinghy to sailing events at weekends. The boats only light (circa 90kgs) Have tried to convince the wife to let me have a toy and a sensible car but after the VX220 was sold its one car only.
Other option if I can't find either an off the shelf or custom tow kit for a 3200 if a Jaguar XK8, but prefer the Maserati.
Any help very welcome
Thanks

Even if its possible I would be very careful.
I have towed a lot of boats in the past, and I currently drive a 3200 but the combination would worry me a bit. You would have to get used to driving the 3200 for a few weeks and then be very very careful with your right foot.
Why not buy the 3200 anyway, you will have so much fun with it you wont want your boat anymore.

My initial reaction was that is just about the silliest thing I've heard BUT not wishing to rain on someone else's parade etc. there may just be a way. The peculiar sight of a German registered 911 turbo carrying an upturned 12 foot dinghy on its roof this last weekend has probably clouded my judgement however.
The rear spoiler/diffuser integrally fitted at the bottom of the bumper may actually provide the means for a custom made towbar to exit the body with NO surgery. The anchor could be the differential subframe using clamps rather than drilling with triangulation achieved by hooking up to the left and right inner silencer bracket mountings that are shared by the central bumper mounts. Strength is the problem here as I do not know how deep the mount bolt-holes extend into the underbody.
That's my starter for 10 but still hair brained and better make sure the dinghy is well strapped on to the trailer!!
